Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When you take it out of context obviously. He clearly said it jokingly because he can't do it, if you can't see that you're doing so on purpose. Maybe because he said it about an Arsenal player?

Anyone who knows anything about the culture of the training ground would not be shocked if fancy-dan behaviour were undercut with an elbow or a two foot sliding tackle.

Most people in here don't even know the culture of football grounds let alone training ones

Thread is more aul wan than Moore Street

To be fair, no one in their right mind would accuse you of finding anything funny after this thread.

He is a crap pundit either way. In his defense he was never that type of player, a decent honest pro and I'd imagine since he is trying to break through into the media he might be trying to overplay and make his mark as being forthright and 'telling it like it is'. That remark was misjudged and probably meant to convey something all be it used the wrong OTT language. I'm a United fan but when I've listened to him in the media it's generally been a lot of old crap mixed with a lot of stating the obvious.

i didn't agree with what he said , but don't think he is the worst of a pretty woeful bunch of bbc pundits - though Ruud Gullit is class .

Jenas isnt bad , but i find it hard to take him too seriously, as i see an average player who never fulfilled his potential, Lawro is so jaded , bring back hansen please

Just a quick question for the op, does it ever get tiring riding around on that high horse all day looking for stuff to take offence to?

For god sake it was a joke, some people just take themselves, football and life far too seriously

    Lols.

As if to give the thread more gravitas.

Phil Neville could come out with all the "two footed holocaust rapist" comments he wanted and nobody would really bat an eyelid. Simply because Phil Neville, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't matter.

What a ridiculous thread. When someone is asked "how do you stop a player like Messi?" and they respond with what now seems a standard answer of "shoot him", I don't take them literally.

    Fabulous

I am referring to the second definition listed here
Informal. exceptionally good or unusual; marvelous; superb:

a fabulous bargain; a fabulous new house.

    Only I was being facetious.

Perhaps you could write in a complaint about me for using words in context.

You probably won't, people who complain about such trivial matters never come across well, to be fair.

    Hi op.

I was wondering if you can help me out here. I left my house this morning with my hair done perfectly. Not a single strand out of place. I was ready to walk into the office and slap a few behinds and complement their moxy.

Alas the wind destroyed my hair.

    Please advise.

Use ellnet sure hold spray going forward.

I would avoid contact with the buttock area as this may lead to an email from HR. Try the shoulder

So we can say innapropriate things and defend then by saying I was being facetious?

Is that like jinx in chase when you were a child?

    How was it inappropriate?

You'll need to explain that to me as if I'm 6.

I feel that fabulous was an inappropriate word to use in this context as it's not something one would Strive to come across as on a news programme. Strictly Come Dancing would be a situation where it would be better used.

Never watched an episode of the show, don't like the prancing.

Also, I don't think Points of View is a "news" program, more of a gossipy, people-with-nothing-better-to-do-than-get-offended-at-small-things kind of show. In that context, I think "fabulous" perfectly fits.

    YMMV.
