    Hi,
I am currently studying this course in another Institute of Technology and was hoping to be able to apply to transfer into third year of the course. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience of the course such as modules, work placement, class sizes stuff like that and of college life at DIT.
    Thanks

Hey, I graduated from this course in 2012. I know in my time people trying to get advanced entry into 3yr was difficult because most the other colleges are a 4 year course and DIT in more intense and fitted into 3 years. But if you do I would say it is a very good course, lecturers are very proficient in their individual fields/subjects. They also are very professional yet you are able to speak to them easily in an informal way too.

3rd Year Modules are: Psychological adjustment, Assessing & Planning for Early Learning, Perspectives on Early Childhood Education, Issues in Policy, Practice and Research, Working with Families/Parents, Child Protection in the Early Years Service, Development of Business & Management Skills in Early Years Services, Supervised Practice Placement (360 hours- was 2 days a week for the year when I was there), Research Methods, Dissertation (Final Year Research project 10,000 words)
Option (Pick one): Bilingualism or Outdoor Play

Supervised Practice Placement: DIT have quite a wide variety of services where you can complete your final year placement (High quality/Specialised Services) - Early Intervention Centres, Special Needs Schools, ABA Schools, Naionra (as Gaeilge), On the wards of the Children's Hospital along side the Hospital Play Specialist (Temple St/National Children's Hospital Tallaght), Barnardos, Family Resource Centres, One Family Centres.

Class Size: Two Classes - A & B, approx 24 in each class

if you have any other questions feel free to PM me. :-)
