    Hello all,

Bit of a general question, I'm considering a project relates to dog breeding for a course I'm doing.
My question is, how do dog breeders find each other? How do you pick a dog to breed with your dog?

Usually through dog shows, kennel clubs, breed clubs and so on.

To add to what andreac wrote, if a breeder is seeking out a stud (for example) they would research the family line to make sure there is no relation to their own, they would also seek out traits that they are trying to promote within their line, for example a high drive, longer legs or heavier bones, that sort of thing!
