Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's a thread with a lot of complaints about Horizon.

So like I was saying, Horizon is the best UPC box.

The boxsets list is hugely expanded from what it was a month ago - but a fraction of what was there, quality wise, when I signed up and got a Cisco DVR a number of years ago. Pathetic to misleading to claim its like Netflix at all.

My suspicion is that it will work on Mediaboxes which are second or subsequent boxes in homes where the main box is a Horizon box - AFAIK there was (at least initially) a limit of one Horizon box per household and any subsequent boxes were Mediaboxes (the mooted "Horizon slave" STB having never materialised),

The SD content (about 60% of it) in both movies and box-sets under MyPrime works on my Thomson Mediabox, which is a second box.

HD content tells me I need a HD subscription, when the box can't even do it - I wonder do they push a downscaled version to SD boxes?

Most older shows are SD and some newer stuff is uploaded in both - Cougartown for instance. I was wondering why they'd need SD if its a Horizon-only product but clearly its for this purpose.

As I say there's no technical reason to limit it to Horizon- it is just to push subscribers to the old packages to switch over.

Had a look at the prime section.

Extremely poor selection of stuff. Even with that little bit of content the interface seems even slower than usual. It also turned my box off twice. Or maybe it was resuming normal tv. Hard to know the difference its so slow.

I wouldn't pay for it. End of.

There's still a much larger number of movies available on the PPV movies section, some pretty old. I don't think they're putting enough effort in to negotiating for this...

I've used the PPV movies a few times and its a decent enough service when compared to physical rentals but if they're selling a Netflix-equivalent they really need to offer an equivalent.

They got plenty of free PR when they announced this with articles in all the major papers and none of the papers are going to turn around now and write about how crap the selection is. So I'd day it's mission accomplished from a UPC point of view.

Pity it's not the same for their customers.

Four weeks later, the press release finally arrives...

If it has taken them 4 weeks for the press release, how long do you reckon it will take to group the box sets in the library?

    Hi Folks,

Just an FYI but Love Hate will be coming to My Prime next week. :-)
We'll keep everyone updated on any more content being added as it comes.

    Thanks.

Only Series 1-3 is there though, will 4 and 5 be added?

Was onto Series three of watching Walking Dead on MyPrime only to find it now not available because the licence has expired. What is the point of putting 5 series' of a show up for a few weeks?

I'm about to commit to another 12 months with UPC (in exchange presumably for negotiating a healthy discount), so I've been doing my homework around alternatives.
The marketing material and the claims therein for Prime is hilarious!
It doesn't help that it's taken me days to figure out what the product is, or how it differs from the previous 'on demand' offering. I actually spend a bunch of time with tech support last year because I was baffled at the lack of co tent on the on demand on my shiny new Horizon box compared to 12 months prior to that. Now they seem to have continued to invest in the hardware and infrastructure, but completely failed to negotiate any content for the Irish market. which wouldn't be so bad of they weren't presenting it as dominating over Sky and Netflix (they conveniently compare UPC to Sky on price, but not Netflix, and don't mention number of titles). Unless something's wrong with my setup, I count 8 movies currently, a small selection of children's programmes and a bunch of series of 'Castle' and old series of Love/Hate.

You know the content is lacking when the suggestions for similar programmes to "13 Assassins" are:
    a) "13 Assassins" (a presumably adult movie containing violence)
    and
    b) "S01 of Paddington Bear" ( an animated series about a small, harmless animated bear - even if his movie did recently attract a PG rating in the UK...)

There is something wrong with your setup, there are currently 151 movies, 82 TV series and 30 kids' series.

there is about 160 free movies in the myprime free section.

I don't think mine displays anything like that amount.

Ring UPC . . . probably a screw-up on their part. Look for comps for all the days you've been deprived of their massive selection . I got €20 knocked off my bill because they screwed up a software upgrade over a weekend.

The above posters are right - you should be seeing a shedload of free movies on there. Most of which you've already seen if you ever wanted to.

I think you're looking in the old VOD section and not the Myprime section.

    VOD?

I go on demand, my prime (I think). I watched Open Range and the first episode of Walking Dead

FWIW, shortly after reading these responses and going back in on the telly - the content magically appeared (the folders only had pictures of one or two titles, but after descending one at a time, they magically appeared full of goodies).

Then, after that the content magically appeared on the Prime Go apps too.
So either someone did something, or my beligerence in browsing it finally caused it to wakeup.

Still nothing I'm going to watch though given I have Netflix, and various catchup services...
