EE kestrel use in Ireland

Im not very good with phones but im interested in the EE kestrel and am interested in buying it. If I brought it in england would I be able to bring it back over here and use it on 3ireland if i got it unlocked first? How would it compare to the Sony Xperia E3?

Never mind eBay - if you know anyone that can get to Asda for you there are a number of them selling them for £50. Locked to EE but unlocked on ebay for €2.
