And I have finished it on hard! Both as a cowering 28 in the crystal room and later an active participant. Just never start to finish on hard. Always a checkpoint or (not so) super sub brought in by one of you lads for the booty.

I've gotten all of the raid armour bar the gauntlets and two of the raid weapons: Light of the Abyss and Black Hammer.

Would love an ol crack at Abyss Defiant or Word

Decided to solo crota normal with my hunter today, came very close on my first attempt but believe it or not the last sword glitched and disappeared on me... never thought that could happen ... ahem...

Took me around 4 attempts, mostly trying to decide whether to use a shotgun or a sniper, decided to use a sniper instead.

After like 40 minutes of trying finally got my reward... 2 shards...

well it was never for the rewards anyway:D

I might be misinformed but there's a lot of conflicting info on this so from what I've read it drops from 3 locations.

I've only ever had the chest drop from the bridge.
Gauntlets from the first section and Helmet from Crota

Most of my gear has come from the bridge but that's due to having done this section more often. I've had 2 boots from Crota recently but the fact that I've been playing normal seems to account for the difficulty getting the hat from him.

I've ran Crota at least 3 times a week since launch and more since hard mode was launched but I've yet to see a 'hat' drop for anyone :P

I don't know what happened to me today but I managed to go through the Crucible part of the Thorn bounty in 5 games, the first time I done it took me about 14-15 games :-D
