Some of our more "liberal, "tolerant" and "open" minds have really shown their true colours on this thread.

I'm sorry Deadpan, but I cannot accept there is anything even remotely liberal about the kind of people who despise freedom of expression. Nor do I think it's liberal to downplay sexual torture and rape of children. There is a far more insidious issue not being dealt with and it really should not be conflated with liberalism.

Such a critique would not fit with the feminist/leftist dogma that white heterosexual men are the sole root of all the world's evil.

So feminism devotes it's effort instead to the demonisation of the perfectly innocuous Page 3, degrading historical human achievement by seeking to ruin a brilliant man for his choice of attire and the vindictive total destruction of the life and career of the hapless Ched Evans who would be happily plying his trade as we speak were he slightly duskier.

You know, the really dangerous misogyny in the world. Not trifling little matters like the organised rape and torture of thousands of white female children by predominately Muslim men and it's subsequent cover up by the authorities.

We probably share some concerns then, although I can't endorse all of your post.

I went back through Casey's report.

9 pages discuss the denial of the agencies involved
3 pages discuss the bullying culture in the council
5 pages discuss the issue of race
4 pages discuss the failure of Children's services
7 pages discuss the failure of the police
7 pages discuss the treatment/perception of victims

All of the above enabled the abuse to continue. If we are to learn then we need to address the report in it's entirety and not just pages 32-36.

‘Imams promote grooming rings’, Muslim leader claimsThe Oxford grooming ring was promoted by imams who encourage followers to think white women deserve to be “punished”, an Islamic leader has claimed.

Dr Taj Hargey, imam of the Oxford Islamic Congregation, said race and religion were inextricably linked to the recent spate of grooming rings in which Muslim men have targeted under-age white girls.

Earlier this week seven members of a child sex ring from Oxford were found guilty of forcing under age girls to commit acts of "extreme depravity".

Their victims, aged between 11 and 15, were groomed and plied with alcohol and drugs before being sexually assaulted and forced into prostitution. They targeted "out of control" teenagers.

Dr Hargey said that the case brought shame on the city and the community and is a set back for cross community harmony.

Another grooming gang have been charged. This time in Calderdale.
Twenty five men have been charged with child sex offences against two girls in Calderdale following a major police operation. In what police say is the largest child sexual exploitation (CSE) investigation in the country - bigger than high profile cases in Rochdale and Rotherham - the men face a combined total of 59 charges, including rape, sexual activity with a child under 16 and trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

The men, who are mainly from Halifax, are accused of committing the offences between 2006 and 2011.

A year-long investigation eventually saw them arrested in May 2013 and they were all formally charged at Halifax Police Station on Wednesday. They have all been released on bail and are due to appear at Calderdale Magistrates Court next Thursday.

The allegations centre around two girls, who are believed to have been in Calderdale Council’s care when the men were arrested, although the majority of them relate to one girl. It is thought the girls were as young as 13 when they were allegedly abused.

The majority of the men charged are from the Asian community and there are fears that the investigation could impact on race relations in Halifax.

However, Temporary Chief Superintendent Owen West, District Commander for Calderdale, said there are no immediate plans to heighten patrols around the town.

“Our issue going forward is around community engagement and how we respond to any issues that come on the back of these charges,” he said.

“For a period of time it’s highly likely that Calderdale will be under the spotlight a little bit.

“If we get increased tension or anger we have got plans to meet that. But we’re not going to go out in traditional high visibility yellow jackets because there’s no need for that at this stage.

“We’re very much seeing it as business as usual for now.”

Police officers and police partners were informed about the development in the investigation on Wednesday.

The facts in the independent report into these events. You know, those things that weren't happening, and anyone who said they were was Islamaphobic. Do you want the link again?

Jeez, it's a real mystery why these events were suppressed for so long, what with the constant accusations of racism and Islamaphobia when then the truth is inconvenient.
But yeah carry on, if you repeat the same nonsense over and over it might make it true.

On the other hand, maybe the genie is out of the bottle and we'll hear of plenty more similar gangs operating throughout England.
I wonder if they'll have anything in common.

Jack Straw highlighted it and was accused of Islamaphobia. Julie Bindell wrote about it and was put on an Islamaphobia watch list. There was a documentary produced on Bradford about 2004 which was criticised for being 'insensitive'.
That's before you get the report into the matter where staff members were told to omit that the men were predominantly Asian, or the person who was sent on 'sensitivity' training for pointing out the racial element to the crimes.
Or how about this thread were we all have 'an agenda' and are 'anti Muslim' and 'abusing the girls again' for our own nefarious ends.
Or the accusations of racism and calls for censorship and closing the thread?

Go back to post #2 in this thread (after deletions)
.....and cases will continue to be swept under the carpet. Because there are too many interest groups preventing discussion. Anything to deflect. Even in this thread the first page is swipes at everything other than discussion of the abusers and the lack of action by the police.

Another grooming gang charged. This is insane.
Twenty more people have been charged with sexual offences as part of police’s Operation Sanctuary probe.

The charges follow the 13-month investigation into allegations of offences committed against vulnerable women and girls across the North East.

So far, 31 people have been charged as part of the operation and the latest charges relate to 12 victims, aged between 13 and 25.

Irrelevant to you perhaps, but not to an effective police investigation. Imagine targeting organized crime by addressing only each individual crime and refusing to recognise that the perpetrators were part of a mafia outfit? How effective do you imagine that would be?
