Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apart from living in the midlands, I (and yore ma) can certify that the above list does not describe this Hyundai owner

yeah, they had an armoured 2006 range rover and I believe a 2010 one for the queens visit too. Theres always one of those 'we need to move somebody really really important and not have them shot' cars.

Wouldn't it be more reliable (and still posh enough) to use a land cruiser??

theres really nothing posh about a landcruiser, worlds apart as vehicles. Also the RR can be ordered armoured from the factory.

It’s a high visibility device appropriate to the vehicles use. It’s not intended to be fashionable. It’s like someone lamenting the use of camo in the military and longing for the good old days of red or blue coats with white belts and gloves.

Dog be with the days blah blah blah. Poxy old bog-spec Escorts, Renault 4’s and Ritmos.

Nostalgia has its place but this probably isn’t it.

We don't really need to ape the UK police vehicle so closely.
Garda vehicles have lost their identity to an extent
Maybe that's a good thing, depending on one's point of view.

Blue lights and reflective stripes should really be enough rather than the overkill of the corporate branding where the word "Garda" is in serious danger of getting lost amid the design.

That thing really looks like it should be at Dublin Airport.

    Just my opinion :)

However, there is some research which expresses concern that the Battenberg pattern may actually hinder visibility by creating a camouflage effect, particularly against a visually‐cluttered background
(De Lorenzo & Eilers, 1991; Langham & Rillie, 2002; Tijerina et al., 2003). Additional research is needed to determine if, on balance, the Battenberg pattern aides or impedes emergency vehicle
    visibility.
