I love a cup of coffee but not very strong coffee but something a bit better than the instant coffee. Any recommendations for a nice coffee for a cafetiere?

That might be more to do with the brewing method, too - the proportion of coffee to water.. Cafetiere coffee usually makes a fairly medium-to-full bodied coffee because it lets more sediment and oils pass into the water. That said, you might, then, want to stay away from French roast, stay on the lighter side of coffees.

If it's lighter bodied coffee you'e after, then filter might be the way to go, to be honest. If you don't have a machine, then there's a bit of a technique to making it with the 'pour over' method, but you'll get a lighter cup because there's no sediment and fewer oils.
