    Spoiler:
On Sunday Eoghan makes an amazing discovery when he sneaks a look at Tommy's laptop.

    I wonder what's that's all about.

Eoghan goes to pornhub, but Tommy is already logged in and all his favourites are shemale videos.

What about Cathal though? He will be seen again at some stage but is he a good or a bad person?

Oh you could see their attempt to reform him in the eyes of the viewers already being initiated...
    Lines like...

I'm nothing like Flynn......(Imagine calling your da by his surname?!)
He will shoot me when he finds out I messed up
    He blames me for everything....

    I mean it was pathetic.

And then he went running away like a child

That was hilarious, and goes to show that Flynn and his son had next to no relationship to begin with, which makes Flynn's panic and despair in the Station seige about his son being hurt all the more ludicrous. Jeez, I know they're bad, but the writers reached new levels of ridiculousness with that story.

When Katy looked at her phone to see all the missed calls - they came up as *Debbie* why not *ma* ?

Because they all can't be calling their mothers 'me maaaaaaa'. just like Cathal calling his father Flynn otherwise it would be 'me daaaaaaa'.
They'd only be confusing the viewers.

If he wanted to leave himself, they surely would have given him a proper exit storyline. Shoving his death onto the end of a three episode siege situation and not even having him as one of the focal points of the episodes looks very odd. I'm guessing he fell foul of the producers and they've booted him off the show (they do have form for this).

Why though? He is not exactly a prominent character in any way shape or form? Essentially just a background character the last year with no storyline.

He is a young man working on a show he gets a line or two every two months. Maybe he and the producers knew he had run his course.

He got a fairly big exit story for such a nobody character in fairness. Dying of a brain haemorrhage after getting accidentally elbowed by your father whilst chasing a guy who was holding your mother captive is a pretty big way to go in soap terms! You can't really build up to a brain haemorrhage death to be fair so the suddenness of it is to be expected.

His need to exit may have been urgent also. IE he just got a new role.

To be honest although the death itself brought a lot of jokes the death aftermath is going to be interesting when Dripey sees the footage and what caused the death.

Dripey Stripey and Katie are good actors and it's good to see them given a role like this. They've done well so far and I'd imagine the exit storyline is more about giving them this storyline than writing Michael out.

Stepfather, not father. Eoghan isn't Michaels da is he?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,378 ✭✭✭BuilderPlumber

Cathal will most likely turn into something like Robbie and potential future boyfriend of Carol if Robbie goes. We can see his conscience getting the better of him with his appreciation of Debbie as a hard worker battling with his duties to carry out Flynn's plan. Things like Debbie saying 'you are a good person' and 'you are not like your father' and he reiterating that 'I'm nothing like my father' shows us all where this character is going. He is more a Robbie or a Deco than a Billy Meehan or Thomas Flynn.

As regards the relationship with his father: Cathal is probably the son of someone Flynn had a short affair with and never met often. Perhaps he relies on Flynn sending him work like the hotel management.

And no doubt Caddle warning him that he better be upstanding, and on the level, and not like the 100 previous fellits she fell for.

I would have thought if they were going to kill Michael off, they would have made him central to the siege plot and then have Flynn or Cathal kill him for dramatic effect. Strange that he has been missing for a good few weeks, comes in for a few minor scenes and then dies.

It could be the case as well though that the actor told them he wanted a speedy exit rather than them firing him.

Agree about Gripey, Stripey and Katy being good actors. Their reactions to his passing last night were very realistic.

In fact The Tommy/Beggar scene could quite possibly be my favourite scene ever! He has catapulted himself up alongside Doug as my favourite character!

Loved that scene too. It reminded me of Breaking Bad. I'd love to see Tommy doing a Jesse Pinkman and cruising all around Carrigstown throwing wads of cash all over the place

Hitchens is going to be "busy" for a while

the typo in WalshB's post over on the fair city predictions thread has made him quite excited :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,934 ✭✭✭✭fin12

True. It seems like a broken contract from either side, but we'll probably never know for sure!

I hope there is an exclusive interview soon from him.

They even squeeze 'ma' into the voicemails.

Sourpuss, you do know you have a 2nd brother?

He has a brother? Was that ever mentioned before?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 658 ✭✭✭Crazy Christ

Let me guess, they think the brother is not going to be there but then he suddenly turns up and decides to stay, as the only reason for his existence is a replacement for Michael, who quit the show because a better acting gig came along: Captain Birdseye's son in a Fish Fingers advert.

    What's so secretive-shocking with Tommy's discovery? It's a innocent-innocuous clash.

Oh no they're turning Heather and Farrah into Ronnie and Roxie. "Don't be afraid to share stuff we're SISTERS"

Be hilarious if it was just Richard mcwilliams playing Michaels identical twin!:)
