it was just a plot to set us up for Flynns revenge story where he breaks out of jail and takes hostages in the Helping Hand.

it was really ridiculous though. The plot had no consequences and leaves no legacy. It was a short few episodes building up to it and flynn, described as a bigtime crime lord had no rational reason to target them apart from knowing carol and robbie dont like him..

i wouldnt be surprised if don baker just approached RTE and said could you give me a few days work before christmas. The story took all the limelight from the actor who played Cathal who was doing a good job up until then and turned the it into its usual cartoonish villain storylines.
