Carol tells Dan mind his own business yet she comes to him with her problem

I think Mary Moran aka Eoghan's mother could be Robbie's birth ma

Interesting theory! Robbie and Eoghan would definitely be in and around the same age.

OH MY GOD!!!!!! They are really blaming Eoghan!!! If its anyones fault, (which it isnt) its Debbies for being a nosey cow.

Yes indeed, the situation at the Ballantine had absolutely nothing to do with Eoghan and Michael. I wonder if Debbie secretly realises this though and is looking to deflect her guilt away on to someone else.

Max to Hughie "im not going to throw away my marriage because of a fling" ......
Right so, but you were willing to do just that when Farrah told you of her kiss with Wayne???? Short memory or bad writing??

  • Registered Users Posts: 136 ✭✭waterlesshouse

Also, why all of a sudden is Robbie annoyed at having to take care Jack. He was quite happily minding him, taking him to the creche, the park, for ice cream, to birthday parties for the last year or so. Another personality transplant to suit a storyline.

They've done that pathetic thing soaps always do to drag a storyline out. They have one character intent on telling another character something they know, but the writers have the character keep hesitating so that they can try to generate some suspense around whether or not the secret will be told, even though the audience don't care two cursed ha'penny shíts..

In real life, he would have told her straight away. In real life, she would probably believe him, but in Fair City she will take Max's side because she's a dozy bint and puts her trust in someone slimier than Bertie Ahern.

They could do alzheimer' or dementia storyline with Chaz cause he keeps forgetting his accent !!! each scene is a mix of Kensington Palace Gardens melting into North side

I think affairs in soaps have been done to death at this stage. They've brought back Heather as a type of Yvonne Doyle character and Max seems to be going down the Paul Brennan path. This type of storyline has been seen before in FC, Corrie, Eastenders and other soaps too often already. We know how it will work out as we have seen it so often before.

Indeed affairs are done to death .. in reality what audience are they aiming for? .. if their are token characters with one line and no story line or no connection to the theme or audience then drop the character.. bring in fresh characters and good story lines.. if the story line is weak then drop the writers.. stop reeling out full weeks of shows ..drop it to three managable well written and preformed shows... add real humour because it's only us that find it funny and that's not the intention of the show !!!

I know if one was to sit down and list the best Fair City storylines ever, the ones dealing with affairs would not make the top ten. To me, FC is at its best when you have the likes of Billy Meehan, Marty Halpin, Sylvester Garrigan or Thomas Flynn in it causing trouble. Issues like prostitution, drug abuse, gangland, abusive husbands and wives, insider trading, racist murders, etc. have all featured in the better FC storylines. Perhaps the best affair storyline was the one Paul had with the rich woman who murdered her sick husband. That was one with a twist.

The affair between Tracey and Billy Meehan was brilliant and the affair with joe and tommy was really funny.

Yes Tracey and Billy was captivating. . They could use passing characters to give shock story lines and then drop them ... really fair city is like a government job for the cast .. they are in for life ... that needs to end... bring in a impartial story writer and director and shake up everything !

When will Heather realise it's a better idea to sleep with people outside your family ... half brother then brother in law... if poor auld Christy hadn't been left to die like a ran over badger he'd be next for a fumble on the desk

If Fair City did affairs they'd be the most boring affairs ever!

  • Registered Users Posts: 56,307 ✭✭✭✭walshb

It was 2 or 3 times.....ffs, either it's two or three? And surely you'd try and lessen the pain by saying it was a one off! He actually threw that in without even being prompted.

Renee standing there while Farrah is sitting reminds me of the wedding scene in The Godfather.
