DUBLIN’S FINEST AMBIENT / ELECTRONIC ACT RELEASES "19,000 OBJECTS" EP

Dublin-based electronic act Geisha are to release a brand new EP. “19,000 Objects” will be available from iTunes and all good digital stores from February 9th.

    Here's a teaser: https://soundcloud.com/geisha-1/19000-objects-ep-teaser

In 2013 Geisha released "Further / Closer" on Psychonavigation Records. This album appealed to lovers of both downtempo electronica and experimental music, received national airplay in Ireland and was voted #28 on Red Bull Music's "Top 50 Irish Albums of 2013" poll. Geisha soon gained a reputation for blending elements of ambient, trip hop, classical, electronica, and organic sounds, leading to comparisons with Boards Of Canada, Susumu Yokota, The Orb, and Christian Fennesz.

With a range of styles, this new EP picks up where "Further / Closer" left off and brings new elements into play. The Orb-like "Sometimes Seeing Into The Eternal Vortex Is The Energy Required By The Vortex Itself" has an almost jazz-like shuffle beat and contains blurry droning noises and ambient washes, and represents a journey - perhaps through time and space itself, with a surprising reveal at its centre.

"Pablo" takes a rich trip-hop vibe and turns itself inside out with an unexpected piano-based second half, while "Project Machine" is based on a grating industrial sample, with heavy drums, bass, and blaring saxophone, which gives it a psychedelic dub-reggae feel. "The Religious 9th" is a more ambient piece, featuring clattering drums, strange speech samples and has a dark, dream-like quality.

The EP was mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Lana Del Rey).
