Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The actual channel is BT Sport 1 , comes with the Setanta Package. Well worth the money if you follow MMA and Man United!

Yep. And my Mrs is due a baby over the next week or so too.
Think I'll just close my account and leave it all to Pablo. He loves the stress anyway. :D

Ah Best of luck to Missus Guapo! I would apologise for going off topic but this whole thread is off topic :)

As long as it doesn't seep over into the new 189 Card thread....

Does anyone know when the Embedded series will start ?

And when the UFC Countdown will be on ?

    Getting close now

They came out with a statement that they would be doing another 10 episodes of embedded so there should be one every day for the 10 days leading up to the fight, the last one of the weigh ins will probably be put up on the day of the fight or late friday night

This thread reminds me of the scene in braveheart..

Sons of Scotland! I am William Wallace.

Young Soldier: William Wallace is seven feet tall!

William Wallace: Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

Last time I was in Vegas with a group of lads, we hardly met any other Irish people. We weren't in any Irish bars either, mainly because we didn't know where they were. This time it'll be very different though.

Anybody here know a good bar where a lot of the Irish travelling over, will be on the Thursday night? Will probably head over to the Dropkick Murphys gig on the Friday night.

Who does everyone reckon will be fighting at this point? The fact that it's still up in the air is truly sickening , I can't bring myself to be properly hyped up for it

I'm not heading over but last time I was there there's a fairly packed and fairly stereotypical irish bar called Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York New York, which is the sister casino hotel to the MGM and directly opposite it. I think they are connected via a bridge actually.

Didn't sound convincing at all though. John Kavanagh interview pretty interesting about the whole situation. Looking forward to hearing what Aldo's training partner says later on, i assume it is another "Aldo shouldn't fight" PR stuff that keeps coming out of the camp.

It's starting to look more likely that Jose Aldo will fight Conor McGregor at UFC 189.

Reports spread last week that the featherweight champion could be forced to withdraw from the grudge match with McGregor after fracturing a rib during training.

The UFC have since confirmed that Aldo had bruised his rib, but subsequent conflicting reports have thrown Aldo's involvement in Las Vegas into doubt. The latest news is that the Brazilian is awaiting approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission to take part in the fight, if not, Chad Mendes will take his place.

Nevada State Athletic Executive Director Bob Bennett has gave a promising update on Aldo's injury to ESPN on Monday. He claims that NSAC consulting physician Dr Timothy Trainor has requested Aldo's medical documents from UFC medical consultant Dr. Jeff Davidson, but it's looking extremely likely that he will be cleared to compete.

"Right now, according to Dr. Trainor's communications with Dr. Davidson, it appears Aldo had a rib contusion and a cartilage injury,

"Dr. Trainor is currently awaiting to see the medical documents and at this point in time, we think it is highly unlikely Aldo will have any trouble competing. Dr. Trainor has told me this type of injury (rib contusion) is fairly common and usually improves within a few days."
Bennett added that the final call will not be made until Aldo's medical documents have been reviewed.

"We already have Dr. Trainor in communication with the UFC and we are making sure Aldo's injury is not going to prevent him from fighting.

"We're already working on it now. We've been discussing this for the last week, going back and forth, trying to get documents. Upon further medical review of Aldo's documents, we will have a confirmed answer."

Are you sure your days are correct above?
The date/day will be set back by one day when you cross the international date line on route. You should landing at around the same time as take off unless you've a huge layover (roughly 15/16 hour flight, and Vegas is 15/16 hours behind).

I take off at 10am Thursday, and I land at 6:30am Thursday ;)

5 hours in Hawaii and I get in at 7 am.

Like someone mentioned earlier all of this carry on from Aldo's camp seriously reeks of mind games - either he's going to fight or not, it's a bit ridiculous to be in this situation 10 days before a fight
