    The Phenonmenalitymeter off scale

Except that shocker of a putt :D

No Monty taking Tiger in a playoff for Monty's Open would be the best.

On a side note, Patrick Reed is making some charge (and getting in the way of the potential Tiger returns and wins news story)

Chipping was more than alright today. He is still able to play.

Noticed this straight away when he did it. Blatant. Another reason not to like him.

Tough conditions today and he's struggling badly.

+5 through 12 holes. Worst score of the day.

Pulls back two birdies on a day when the course was playing 3-4 shots harder than the first two for a three over. Impressive in its own way. And doesnt have the worst score of the day.
A very interesting 3 days so far from Mr Eldrick Tont 'Tiger' Woods.

The world no1 shot a worse score than tiger today

    Just saying

    Calm down

Tiger is doing well the weekend isn't about winning or playing well it's just about getting back swinging the club without pain and it looks to be going to plan. The way he has played is just a bonus.

-5 so far today. Great stuff and hopefully he can continue this form into next year. Also great to see the Sunday Red out as it's been a while.

He's doing very well on the course to be fair. I still think he's a horribly flawed person however.

Possibly, but personality aside, it's great to see him back.

Having Woods back is good for golf, I dont think anyone can deny that. Never been a big fan of him but it'd be great to see him out there competing with the younger guys. Would definitely be interesting!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,634 ✭✭✭CalamariFritti

Much is being made of Woods vs the younger guys but he's not old by golfing standards. He's the same age as Stenson for example.

Yes but the guys playing well into their 40s is the exception and I'd suggest going to be more so in the future - swing speeds and amount they practice etc.

Personality and behavior are all part of it I think. He's been a truly great golfer and may contend again but..............

Said it here about 5 years ago that Tiger would be back - got a lot of raised eyebrows.

Let's hope the greatest golfer of all time stays fit and if so will be #1 in 18 months.

    C'mon TigerðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’

So, there we go. Way beyond what I think anyone outside of his inner circle probably expected him to do. Heck. Playing 72 holes would have been considered a success. But being fully in the mix with, while admittedly a slim field but nevertheless a concentratedly top notch one, his peers, swinging freely and powerfully, with a (72nd aside) solid putting game, was impressive.

Mission accomplished. Whether anything comes of it or not, we will go through a winter of justified hype.

World Sporting Moment of 2017 right there folks. The Second Coming is upon us.

    Nicklaus was better.

Tiger and Padraig paired together for the final round of the masters in April.

    You've heard it here first.
