Everyone knows Tiger's not going to win.

    Did anyone tell Tiger?

  • Registered Users Posts: 27,163 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

He is all over the shop

    18 handicap stuff

    left right left
    fore

    18 handicap stuff? Really.
Are any of those 18 handicappers you know available for my next scramble?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭ForeRight

If he could drive the fairway this week he would win this by about 6 shots

    yes

he has been 20 yard + wide on both sides of fairway and hasn't hit a fairway

it's a figure of speech GreeBo

sure you would lay up in a scramble. nobody would be on your team :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,912 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

I was wrong on 18 handicap

    more like 20.

You'd be struggling to get Tiger counting on a drive in your scramble.

Ah if the 3 lads got it in the fairway on the par 3s Tiger could hit last and have a go at the green :pac:

    enjoyable watching tiger

But he has been very lucky with very poor shots.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,912 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

    Scrambling well!

Am I watching something else? Has he not just gone four under for the front nine?

    Amazing to watch

But golf off the tee like that normally catches up with you

hopefully Tiger found a power fade he can stick to there

  • Registered Users Posts: 27,163 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

Yeah, he has been really lucky with all those approaches inside 10 feet.

I know another player (finished about an hour at this stage) who would bite your arm off for wedges like that...

Didn't think I'd ever see this happening again.

Yeah, coz 350 yard drives would be no good at all

Tiger misses some fairways but clearly not that badly considering he is like -4 for 10 holes but he is a 20 handicap hacker.

Rory misses the green from 100 yards, walks off with bogeys and finishes outside the top 50 yet he is still the best golfer in the world.

I wonder do the Rory-tinted glasses come with a free cap?

What's McIlroy got to do with the tiger woods thread?

    Being realistic

Tiger is too far back ?

    It's called a comparison...

There is a guy on the Rory thread doing it a lot, maybe check with him?:pac:

Oh god Jason Day just missed a green from 100 yard, sign him up for Jimmy Bruen next year.

If you think anything those lads do is comparable with what you or your 20 handicap friends do, you're sorely mistaken.

30 shots? May want to have another look at the leaderboard there bud.
DJ missed the cut at the Open too. Lad's a hacker. That's 2 majors in a row he hasn't competed at.

McIlroy is about -1 through 15, so not his best...although I don't know how the scoring is in general is. Had a look at Day's match and he was about the same score through 15 and won 4&3

Remember the time Steve Williams threw away The Open a few years back by letting Scott bogey the last 4 holes or whatever it was? Should have sacked him on the spot, he'll never be a good caddy.

    Great shot there.

But is there that much trouble for the lads above all playing good stuff ?

It is not a course / conditions that will take 3 or 4 players back to you

    IMO

They might not have to come back if keeps hitting them like that.

    True

But lads above him will make a few too - it is just a top level leaderboard.

Wasn't it you questioning why other players were being mentioned on there less than an hour ago? love that you took the time to trawl through every post I made on the tread too, I'm flattered :)

Pieters showed a good example of what can happen if you get a bit antsy...
But I wouldnt expect Koepka to drop too many
