Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Remove shower attatched to bath faucet

The taps in the bath have an old shower head attached to them that we don't use. I'm looking to remove but I've a few questions about this.

Can it be done by myself or do I need a plumber?
Whats the stopper that goes in the top where the hose part comes off called?
Are these stoppers a universal size?

    Any answers would be appreciated.

I am presuming that you want to remove the section of the bath tap that the shower hose assembly connects onto. Most of them are straight forward to do, some of them can be a bit more difficult.
It is perfectly fine for you to do this yourself as long as you have the correct tools.
Can you post up a picture of the tap and we can try guide you a bit better on what you can take apart.

Go to your local plumbing supplier and ask for a 1/2" blanking cap (372) which should be the same thread, you can get them in brass or chrome and make sure to get the rubber washer inside it, (Pay about 1 - 2 euro).
Unscrew where the hose attaches to the tap and screw the blanking cap onto the threaded piece sticking out of the tap where the hose was connected.
    Tighten with a suitable spanner.
    Job Done.

Ask for a chrome blank. It'd look better. You won't even need a blank as long as you don't pull up the knob in front of it
