I can't understand the logic in this.

When Lucy was first found, the police immeadiatly suspected a mugging gone wrong. They were looking for someone on the bus with a hat on. It happened to be Jay.

The police arrested Jake because of the blood/earring found in his apartment, then released him. They know he was drunk. Fast forward to now they are charging Jay with the mugging of her phone/purse and hiding the evidence. So they know Jay was on the Common where she was murdered and she was mugged, but they arrest Max because of the blood on his shoes?

Max explains a drunk Jake hit her and Lucy got a noseblood

If they think Jay mugged her and then Max killed her surely without her phone she wouldn't of been able to call for help so Jay would be partly responsible?

The only explanation I can think of is Marsden knows Jay is covering for Ben, but 3 months for admitting to mugging a phone/purse at the centre of a murder investigation and hiding it, and lying constantly to the police does not make any sense.

Hmm mm here's a theory. Carol finds out she has weeks to live from the cancer and decides to take responsibility for Lucy death to exonerate Max. The actress Is leaving so this will give her her exit? Or else Max gets charged and goes to jail for the period of the actors leave from EE but Bobby eventually is revealed to be the killer and he is exonerated. I do believe the truth will be revealed. Probably at Christmas with Laurens return and Kathys return.

The beales NEED max to go down to draw the whole thing to a close and direct all suspicion from bobby, but It's clearly not what they want. It's a ****ty situation for everyone involved.
