In the UK they seem to think Bobby did it accidentally and was covered up by Jane

    He's also bookies favourite

OK, i have driven myself mad thinking of theories behind Lucy so I have decided to pick someone and stick by it now.

If I had 4 suspects they would be Denise, Jane, Bobby and Cindy but I am going to choose the latter two as my choices. Both are strong odds so worth a fiver each.

So my theory is Jane helped cover up a row between Cindy (probably) but maybe Bobby which led to Lucy's eventual death.

I think the row centred around the cocaine, perhaps hidden in the jewelry box with Cindy threathening to expose Lucy. I think there was a row and a catfight and Lucy was hit by the jewelry box knocking her out, or at least dazing her. Perhaps this led to an aneurysm and her dazily leaving the house and finding herself on the common? It would be ironic if Emma suffered an aneurysm trying to solve the murder also.

Masood and/or Denise may also have been involved in clearing the body from the scene. If she did die at Beales.

I think the key is Jane covering up for Lauren by stating she saw her out the window at a certain time to Emma. I think it clicked with Emma that Jane could not have been there as on the CCTV her car was missing at the time she claimed. "Hence...............it doesn't add up" SOC (scene of crime....

i have more on this and i'll edit it accordingly but i am convincing myself by the minute.

the music box under the tree was a plant by Emma to test reactions by the suspects she had narrowed it down to.

i think she called jane that night with the "i know you killed lucy" line believing it to be her but jane brought cindy along to explain the story. "its still murder" perhaps testifying to the fact that Cindy is so young and/or it was not intended. (although then you are getting into premeditated zone) Note that Emma had no problem meeting the killer and seemed to empathise with them giving them a chance to explain and battling with her conscience whether to ship them in to the police. "i cannot keep THE secret"............ ie the cover up by Jane / Cindy (bobby). if it was someone like Jay, Ben, Billy, Lee, the Crokers, Denise, Whitney, even Max or any other suspect outside the Beale family, i think she would struggle to meet them and give them an opportunity to explain themselves.

jane hid items in the floorboards and has spent a lot of time with cindy, most notably convincing Alfie to get ian out of the house as "he would be doing her and Cindy a favour" the night if the stag.

Cindy has kept a very low profile since the night compared to others and has never shown any strong indications you can say she is definitely innocent, ie no finger pointing miss marple stuff. yet she is always lurking about.

Also, if it is Cindy, Ian won't shop her into the police. She is a kid and there is a baby involved. if it was jane, i couldnt see him forgiving her. if it was any of the brannings/mitchells straight to jail, likewise denise, the crokers, lee, whitney etc.

i think for utmost drama and shock and a lasting legacy, ian's own daughter killing her sister would be the best option. I feel they have big plans for Cindy the character and giving her this platform and background will push her onto a new level.

10/1................... great price if you ask me.

i must say i read this post and i went out and put 25 quid on cindy and a small bet on denise and bobby. it was a great post i thought at the time by him/her and best theory offered on this thread so i went with it! pints on me if its cindy!

Remember it was said at one point that there a clue of who the killer was in the first episode of Eastenders? Anyone watch it and have any idea what that was?

The only thing that jumped out at me was Ethel talking about neighbours - being afraid to get involved, and neighbours not being what they once were. Can't remember the exact lines, would need to watch it back to hear.

Anything else jump out at anyone from the first episode as the supposed clue?

nope nevermind different fruit bowl! :D

i can't see a thing, unless Lucy was pregnant and it's related to that, max wasn't the only one she was with was he?

double duh, Kathy was in the first episode too so that gives weight to the opinion that she's back/did it.

Only 3 of the regular cast members have yet to appear in a scene so far this week, unless I just missed them... Stan, Mo and Aleks - I hope they all show up at some point, since the crew have clearly made an effort to get as many people involved as possible...

Also, great to see Tracey and Winston prominently featured this week... Maybe the clue from the first episode is Tracey - she's been in it since episode 1, so it's obvious that Tracey killed Lucy!

    Spoiler for tonight's episode
EastEnders villain Dean Wicks will make a shocking move in the first of tonight's dramatic episodes (February 19) as he plans to start a fire at the Queen Vic.

Dean (Matt Di Angelo), who was seen secretly returning to Albert Square last night, sets a drastic revenge plan into motion in explosive scenes.

Wanting to make the Carter family suffer after Linda rightly reported him for rape, Dean arrives at The Vic with a lighter and petrol in hand.

Ruthless Dean pours petrol all over the barrel store, but he is stopped in his tracks when Linda's daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill) notices the smell and arrives to investigate.

Nancy is taken hostage by Dean but her father Mick (Danny Dyer) soon finds them and makes a drastic plan of his own to deal with the situation.

Have to say, I'm glad everyone here managed to see the funny side of "How's Adam?" and thought it added to the episode rather than detracted it... I've seen some horrible comments elsewhere where people are cursing Jo Joyner to high hell over the slip up and condemning Dominic Treadwell Collins for deciding to go LIVE in the first place...

Some people would want to cop on to themselves and not take life so seriously. Not to mention they're an awful lot braver behind the safety of their keyboards to write disgusting comments that they wouldn't dare say in person.

Haters gonna hate I suppose, just glad I don't run in to too many ar$eholes like that in real life...

Would actually make for an interesting storyline if someone actually did burn down the Queen Vic. Being Such a focal point of the show it would cause quite a dilemma.

I watched the first ever episode again for that rumoured clue and saw nothing but as I was paying so close attention, couldn't help but notice the topless pin up in the Queen Vic that was in about a dozen or so shots. Amazing that was allowed back then.

Anyway, my guess on who killed Lucy is: the copper Cameron, Emma's ex.

Remember him watching Lauren and Peter all the time. I reckon he saw Max with Lucy and because he blamed max for Emma leaving him, he decided to take Lucy from Max.

He's 125/1. I'm gonna be rich. Rich I tells ya!

He did!! I didn't notice it either til I read it on ds so I watched the scene again - it was outside the vic when Lauren was telling him they're over. At first I thought he said "don't say it" but when I put on subtitles it was "don't Stace".

Very odd, especially as I don't remember Peter & Stacey ever having scenes together so it's hardly a force a habit or anything. She was in the background of the scene, but still......... Mighty strange.

    Dammit!!

Okay, I'm switching to Lee Carter.

He has a crazy temper. Remember the thumps he gave Ben for shag all. Most likely suffering from PTSD from fighting in Iraq or wherever he was. He also hit Mick. Had sex with Lucy and sure maybe he killed her by accident in some flashback. Cameron took a DNA sample from him but maybe because he saw that Emma and Max were getting close, he switched the DNA sample or something. Look I don't know the ins and outs of it, but he Lee did it. 40/1. Has to be worth a few quid.

Yeah, I do. I was 40 last year and so when it started lots of the characters were around my age. Mark Fowler's character appealed to me most. All the girls in my class had pics of him from Look In magazine (anyone remember that?). Him and Nick Cotton were the reason a lot tuned in I'd say. I don't really remember the public being told why he died, although maybe that was just youth. I was a big Grange Hill / Tucker's Luck fan and so when Tucker Jenkins (Todd Carty) joined a few years later I thought it was cool as I thought he would be just like Tucker.

After this week it'll be hard to look at the other soaps. A few mistakes were made with the live bits but I wouldn't fault the actors or crew for them. Stellar performances by everyone especially Lorna Fitzgerald who plays Abi.

Yep it was posted yesterday morning, and think someone commented about how typical it was that the mirror made what was reported as a small fire elsewhere into a 'huge fire'.

I won't be home til about 8.20 tonight. So I'm going to have to drive home with the radio off, stay away from my phone and sit in the car for 15 as the OH will be watching to so I can avoid hearing who killed Lucy. He has to go to work at 9 so we can't watch together. I could go in the front door and run straight up stairs to avoid the television but it would be too tempting. :o:o

Yep I remember it, loved it from the start but went off it in recent years but have been watching since the Carters moved into the square. I met some of the cast in the late 80's/early 90's through work or charity events.

I remember the first episode and I've watched it regularly since. My mam didn't like it so being a rebellious teenager I had to really like it just to annoy her.

    Okay, last guess.

Anyone think that the killer could be Steven Beale?

He's clearly a nut case. Pretended he was Cindy and then kidnapped Ian.

    250/1.

I wonder is there going to be any last appearance of Lucy on Friday (not including flashbacks)? I'm thinking the poignant (but slightly cheesy) shot of the murderer being taken away/running off, and they see some vision/apparition of Lucy among a crowd or the shadows.

Or it will end with Lucy walking across the cobbles and fading away, cue Julia's theme.

I definitely think that too that it be someone unexpected or someone not in the cast but more than likely its someone from the cast as Lauren more or less said it affect a lot of people and the person goes to the pub but how does she know who did it, from what I can see she only know where and how but does she really know who did it?

Few more hours to go we find out...

To be someone very unexpected not in the cast I think the Lauren bit would be fine, as she may have gotten it wrong, and may just have the scene of crime right, but not know the person.

But Emma ringing the person and saying 'I know you killed Lucy' and then meeting them would be a bit harder to explain.

I think someone very random and seemingly unrelated so far, but who is in the cast...

The only people I can think of not part of the cast at the moment is Danny, Steven that have links with Lucy. The mystery surrounding the new cast member as well he knows Ronnie/phil? Or its whom ever the dealer was supplying Peter the drugs for lucy. The other possibility is not any of the suspects but the chances are still high its one of them. They could just say things to twist the story a bit more to keep us guessing! They kept it hidden very well!

My final prediction is Lola (they've been trying to throw us off the scent)

-Her alibi for the night of Lucy's death is false. She said she was home with Lexi all night, but she was in Fatboy's video where Lauren was spotted, but no one ever questioned why Lola was there...

-She was dating Peter at the time and was jealous of Lucy because Peter paid more attention to his twin, so she has motive, and explains how she could get into the Beale's house... Peter could've given her a key for all we know...

-Because she wasn't part of the 14 people on the street when Emma sent the text on New Year's Day people have kinda forgotten about her, but Emma could've had it wrong and actually met with someone who was helping Lola cover up the murder... Jay and Ben perhaps?

-Phil needs to tell Ian something, but Billy wants Phil to just let it go. Phil would be able to convince Ian not to go to the police, but just wanted him to know...

-Lola has been very quiet recently storyline wise, maybe they want us to just forget about her entirely...

Don't remember it starting, but I used to watch it regularly, way back, I probably started watching mid/ late '90s.

I've been an on-off viewer over the years. Anytime I see a bit of it, I think oh must start watching again. I've no theories at all to offer because I only watch rarely now, but I'm looking forward to knowing at this stage 'whodunit' :D

I loved the 'how's Adam' line last night.
