Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When Cora revealed she had a child before marriage I really thought Sharon would be her daughter. It would have made more sense than who turned out to be her daughter.

they already done that EXACT story with Cora (Ava)!! Would have been far too annoying to have another secret child given up living in the same area.

I think KKKitty was suggesting that before we knew who exactly Coras secret child was, she thought it may have been Sharon

Always best to ensure you've correctly read somebody's observational post before using CAPS, exclamation marks, and a critical tone

Sorry, no need for the condescending mail. I assumed she was suggesting that Cora should have been the mother and forgot or was unaware of Ava. My message was in no way having a go at the poster and the exclamation marks were just for emphasis that her suggestion Cora could be a better choice of mother considering we know her was that this exact story was already done. I overlooked the fact the poster was suggesting Sharon should have been the mother and not Ava. For that I apologise KKKitty but it isn't the end of the world so I am sure you won';t be offended, CAPLOCKS, exclamation marks or not! I wasn't criticising her suggestion, merely stating in a tongue i cheek matter that the story has already been played out, albeit it was silly for me to ignore what she was really suggesting.

But there is no need to write that second paragraph you just wrote. There is a very bad tone developing on this thread recently with people just jumping down the gun at others for the sake of it. A lot of tension and when you compare it to threads like FC thread where people have a laugh, I'm beginning to get bored by it all! I'm sure KKKitty would have had no problem explaining what she meant so .

Anywaypointless rant over! Lets leave it at that!!

The idea that people can't point out, quite civilly, when someone has missed the point completely is ridiculous.

Anyway, on another note, EE badly needs some humour in it! It is taken itself far too seriously with all these heavy storylines and, for all its growing faults, Corrie has some great characters like Mary, Sally/Tim, and Norris who are simply there to fill the humour void. EE always had some sideline "comic actors" in the past but this has really all but disappeared over last few years. Fatboy has toned down, Patrick is sadly stricken, Alfie is as dull as a grey cloud, Kim looks like she is going to be in a bad way for a while and although I love Tamwar, his dry humour can get a tad mundane! Even the Vic is just a cauldron of misery and you don't have the East end banter that characters like Minty and Gary carried off well propping up the bar! Now all we have in the Vic is almost 90% Carter dialogue. For as many parties, pool tournaments and karaoke nights they throw it doesn't have that friendly banter vibe it used to! Imagine that pub being your local!

Please can we just leave it. The reply wasn't that civil, it was a bit condescending in my eyes and I accepted the point that I misinterpreted KKKittys mail. I just took issue with the last part of the mail that is all. It was a needless, confrontational remark. Do we achieve anything making petty comments on a soap thread! Come on, please, lets just get back to chatting about the soap. Too much tension here!!!

OK, I apologise for going off topic now to all.

The Carters are boring, which is annoying when 90% of the show is based around them now

So Deans gonna gate crash the wedding by having Mick arrested I guess

In last night's episode, why did Linda reject Mick's phonecall while she was sitting in the car with Sharon?
I get that she walked in what was meant to be a surprise party but why is being off with Mick AGAIN?!
I mean, we've had to put up with her moody face since October and now she's still at it.

When is Ronnie going to wake up? She's lovely fresh hair for someone in a coma.

Linda - because she has doubt in her mind over whether Mick killed a man?

And I'd consider having a moody face since October the very least she would have in the circumstances. If what happened happened and she didn't have a mood there'd be something very wrong :)

I agree. And she still doesn't know whether her rapist is the father of her unborn baby.

I think she's coped remarkably well considering.

Yep. The affects of rape last a life time, and given that it's only been just over a few months, and as you say she may be pregnant with her rapist's baby, her 'husband' may have killed her rapist, and the rapist was a member of her extended family so it caused all kinds of frictions, while she's completely fictional, I guarantee she's doing much better right now than I would in the same situation.

Don't agree. Think it's time to either change the subject already, regarding Dean, and move onto something else. Soap storylines get stale if they go on too long.

That's true. But in terms of the last few months and her moodiness, little point in doing a rape storyline if you don't show that the rape victim has been affected. Rape storylines in soaps are shown to do a lot to improve public awareness of the subject, and it would definitely be bad of any soap to do a rape and not show a rape victim as at the bare minimum moody for a few months.

Totally agree - if she was acting 'normal' we'd be giving out about that too!

Exactly. The big events - deaths, rape, infidelity etc - need to have long-lasting effects because they do in real life.

I think if a storyline is handled realistically & sensitively then it can run for a long time without going stale - look at the Lucy murder plot, that went on for 10 months & we were still all beside ourselves with excitement by the end of it!

Why can't Ben just be bisexual?? As far as I know he hasn't actually had a relationship (or even slept with) a guy.

Yeah, 'cause that's how it works...

To suddenly make him bisexual without at least have Ben explore his sexuality first would be disappointing, so it's good to see them starting to deal with the issue by having him open up to Abi...

Is it possible that Abi is using Ben to make Jay jealous. If so, it seems like it's working.

Could Sharon's real daddy be Linda's daddy too

Christopher said last night his mother left the house to him, his brother and his sister. So it appears Sharon has two half brothers and a half sister.

Wasn't Dennis Sharon's brother though.. or half brother, or something?
