Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think they'll have to start reporting on aul premier Sunday transfer dealings to spice tis night up. Ha I'd say sky are disgusted with this.

Their old banker arry couldn't even give them a dig out tonight

Matt Jarvis to QPR on loan.

Not going ahead now it seems. Qpr already had zarate on loan from west ham but weren't happy with him. They wanted to send him back and get jarvis instead but fa stopped it

Zarate had serious issues with Lazio as well in terms of attitude and application.

Very talented player but wasting his talent.

Crystal Palace have just confirmed the signing of Wilfried Zaha from Manchester United! It's just like the Hobbit...There and back again!

That's all they're doing, going around the grounds reporting on deals that didn't happen.

    Incredibly underwhelming deadline day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Football teams are great for a bit of procrastination. 1-0 down? Its all good, sure we'll go all out once we get to injury time. Till then lets just sit back and soak up the rays.

Want to sign Darren Fletcher? Sure we've a whole month to do it. Half 9 on the night of the deadline suddenly its all hands on deck.

I wonder if all the clubs got together and agreed to create the most boring deadline day ever, in an effort to kill the ridiculous television coverage for the future.

Maybe teams have copped on there is very little decent business to be done during January.
Apart from maybe 6-7 deals, hardly any money spent by premier league teams this window. Plenty of squad culling and loans though.

Spring cleaning before the summer shopping.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

The Torres/Carroll January deadline day was the last of the big spending. And judging by how they turned out (for the money spent) who can blame clubs for not rushing into anything in January!

Having said that Liverpool did manage to pick up Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho during the January window so there are players out there to be had!

    Competitie = league
    Uitgaven: Money spent
    Inkomsten: Money coming in

And the last is self explaining.

So we have the Mexican league spent more than la liga and the bundesliga.

Russia and Ukraine might move in there at 1 point as their transfer market are still open.

Apart from Tim Cahill, who (of note) went to the Chinese Super League?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Anelka, Drogba and Lucas Barrios is all I can remember..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,862 ✭✭✭✭inforfun

Alan from RB Salzburg to Guangzhou Evergrande for 11 million is one of them.
Seeing the Brazilian league having received a lot of money again i imagine there will be a few more Brazilians of the unknown kind in China now as well.

    Redknapp resigns from QPR.

Probably due to his lack of action in the transfer window.

The way Sky basically told Lewis McGugan to politely f*ck off, we've got more important news than you. I'd be fuming.

Probably due to the fact he wasn't allowed over-spend on panic buys on big wages. Again.

Sadly this could see the end of all that madness that was Deadline day -

After yesterdays non-event and 'Arry not conducting last minute interviews from the car woindow, an era has ended for TV sport.
