Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Im am a fully qualified and registered teacher with 7 years teaching experience. At the moment all I can find is casual substitution in a local secondary school. I am currently getting paid the unqualified rate (€40.05 p/h). Just wondering is this correct? on any given day I may be subbing for any subject but have covered classes in my own subject areas too.

Can anyone rectify this for me?

    Thanks

If you are fully qualified you should be getting the qualified rate. Have you been teaching in Ireland? Did you take a break from teaching? Also, I think I heard somewhere that if you take a break of more than six months you are classed as new entrant. When you are only receiving e40.05 - that seems to be qualified post 2012 (http://www.asti.ie/pay-and-conditions/pay/salary-scales/salary-scale-for-teachers-appointed-after-february-1-2012/). I would ring the payroll department to update your information.

Check with your payroll, either department or vec. You might have to show them your qualifications to get qualified rate e.g degree parchment, teaching council red etc. Once rectified you should get the money owed backdated
