Looks like cool, dry and cloudy with little wind. Not bad, eh.

Jebuz and KC hand in hand through 5k in 18.55. A little slow but to be expected in the first 5k.

Put it this way, I haven't ran a marathon since ;)

Maria through 5k in 18.05 (2.32.30 pace). Catch up lads.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭KielyUnusual

KC puts on the after burners and hits the 2nd 5k in 17.57 to bring predicted time down to 2.35. Jebuz with a slightly quicker pace of 18.41 (2.38 pace). No Boards love story today it seems. Maria, the machine that she is, hits another 18.05 to maintain 2.32.30 pace.

she usually goes out quite aggressively while KC usually heads out a little more conservative. That's a fast 2nd 5k split for him and is probably a minute up on where he was last year so looking goof for a PB all going well

I'm off to expo so keep updates coming please :)

Looks like John eves is running with Maria. Gary crossen in their too, although a little back from Maria. Knowing Gary, he'll run a negative.

I'm off in about an hour so hopefully someone will pick up the slack for both our convenience.

I prefer predicted finish time with all my updates. Any other requests trr?

Banana boy gone out fairly snappy with 10 kms of 4.09 pace for a predicted 2.54 finish.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,584 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    15km

    Maria - 54.03 (2.32.02)
    krusty - 54.32 (2.33.22)
    jebuz - 56.09 (2.37.55)

Hope Krusty settles down now, he's hardly going to keep ramping up the 5k splits from here to the end, is he?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭KielyUnusual

Gary picks it up again with a 17.40 to bring predicted time down to 2.33. Maria also picking it up with a 17.53 for predicted time of 2.32. Paths might cross here soon. Jebuz too with a quicker split of 18.32 for predicted time just under 2.38. No significant wind today or any real elevation changes so I'm guessing we can take the times as they are and pretty much ignore mitigating factors.

    20 KM

    Maria - 1.12.31 (2.32.58)
    krusty - 1.12.32 ( 2.33.02)
    jebuz - 1.14.44 (2.37.39)

krusty and maria hand in hand. Jebuz the steadiest of the trio through this split.

    EDIT:

    Half

    krusty - 1.16.26
    maria - 1.16.34
    jebuz - 1.18.51

    Krusty overtakes Maria.

    20k

Gary settling in to a rhythym with an 18.00 5k (2.33 pace). Maria with her slowest 5k of 18.28 (also 2.33 pace). Help each other out guys. Jebuz with a consistent 18.35 to maintain 2.37 pace. Solid stuff.

Maria and john eves through halfway in 76:04. Asimonov running solid splits aswell.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

Bahanaman's splits are like a machine!

4.09mpk all the way. Just needs to hold it together now.

yes, I'm aware 'just' isn't the right word..... but you know what I mean.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

The leaders chuck in a 2.45 and a 2.49 km.

Imagine you're hanging in there at 2.56 pace and that happens!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,584 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    25 KM

    krusty - 1.30.23 (2.32.32)
    jebuz - 1.33.14 (2.37.21)

Solid from the guys. No split form Maria. DNF?

EDIT: Still no split for Maria. Hope its a technical fault, would be a shame if she has to pull out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

Maria seems to have dropped out for me too. Shame.

Emer is going well. On for a very comfortable sub 4 at the moment.

KC doing very nicely. Bring it home folks.

Gerry Duffy knocking out very consistent splits. Just inside 2:50 pace after 25K.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

So, this is where all that training come into play. Gary can hopefully stay with 3.37 pace now. Bahanaman continues to churn out the kms very consistently.

The commentary on the live feed is the worse I've ever heard.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,584 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    30KM

    krusty - 1.48.24 (2.32.27)
    jebuz - 1.51.43 (2.37.08)

Krusty with a slight increase in pace, very solid. Jebuz puts in his quickest 5k split of the race.

This is where i'll start hurting. Give it socks guys!
