Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You got in just in time for the equaliser, didn't you?!

Came inasmuch Mitchell got the red. What was that for? Delighted here.

Somebody needs to do a photoshop of Maciej's face on a mortal kombat character standing over Matthews with the finish him bit onscreen too.

Ps. The reign of terror was the lack of goals, not just results.

The only thing more laughable than the red given to the Bray player was the performance by the home team. Woeful stuff.

I dunno now, Ward's sending off was quite funny too.

2-0 to Longford. We're in trouble atm.

Edit: 2-1 now but we're down to 10 men. Ian Bermingham sent off.

Double Edit: 2-2 at FT. Great to get a result after such a bad start.

I posted this in the wrong thread. Meant to post in the weekly thread.

If I drive to the Brandywell on Friday, is it probable my car will be damaged?

The athlone one? Wasn't at it myself, but we were desperate for at least a point so we could stay in touch

Get up earlyish and park in the stadium, they close the gates about 7:15

I'm just a little worried with previous incidents involving buses.

That is going to happen to the buses as they head down the road outside the stadium.

But a car with a Dublin (or whoever is playing on that given week) reg would probably be a target too. I wouldn't trust it myself. Easily the worst away in the country.

Never had an issue if i got into the ground way before the game. Rovers away is the worst away trip imo

It's coming out of the ground that is the problem.

I'd park elsewhere along the river and walk out of the ground to it. Or wait behind if the 'stewards' allow you to, until those outside have used up all their ammo on the exiting coaches.

A lot of pressure on this man's shoulders coming into this season but so far he's been doing pretty good. All hail David McMillan. March's Player of the Month.

Thankfully Joey Ndo is back in the coaching fold at Rovers. Hopefully the long ball will be faded out. Liam O'Brien also joining.

Unfortunately this is probably the best advice. I'd say the cops will quietly be monitoring the area from here on in so it should be fine but if there is a crowd of wains about they will likely clear off once the buses are gone. Buses are an easier target as well, they're unlikely to stone cars.

If you're stuck, there's plenty of parking closer to the city centre that would be perfectly safe, I'd recommend this area. It's about 4 minutes from the ground and just down the hill is the Bluebell Bar where fans from both side normally meet up before the match too.

We're going to need a bigger bench.

Heary looks to be completely undermined by this appointment. Very strange times at the Showgrounds.

The previous talk of buses just reminded me of a funny encounter we (Athlone Town) had in Dundalk a few years ago.

To set the scene, when Dundalk played in Athlone, some local knacks stoned their bus on the way out. Pretty sure the scrotes werent even at the match but how and ever it caused a bit of tension between some sets of supporters.

For the return game in Oriel there had been messages passed that if we brought a bus it would get done and all that jazz. So when we were booking it we asked for pretty much a banger so as not to draw too much attention to ourselves. Dundalk officials and the Gardai were even on to us to work out safe passage in and out.

So, as there were elections around the same time, our bus landed with a giant Mary O'Rourke campaign advertising on the back! So much for travelling incognito!!!

So we landed up to the game. Bus pulled in and just as we were getting off, a gang of local <insert appropriate description> accosted us demending we tell them where our bus was cos they were going to stone it. One of the lads, who had just stepped off the bus, pointed down the road and said it was off down there somewhere .... so off they went to seek it out and get revenge!!

Not sure how long it took them to realise what actually happened but we got a Gardai escort out of Dundalk which was hilarious in itself as the Gardai got lost, with us behind, so we all had to pull in and figure out how they should get back while we ploughed on for a mystery tour home.

Looking forward to tonking the Drogs this evening. This time last year we annihilated them 7-0, a beating which they still haven't mentally recovered from. Our leader Stephen O'Donnell is in line for his league comeback this evening which could mean in form Richie Towell playing a more advanced role alongside Finn and Horgan in an attacking trio just behind player of the month McMillan.

Have a feeling O'Donnell will start on the bench though with Meenan getting the nod. Either way it will be another painful beating for the Drogs.

It'll be good for the league when it goes ahead. Limerick playing in Jackman is a bit like your next door neighbours having rubbish bags strewn across the much overgrown lawn with a rusty Ford cortina in the driveway And the house hasn't seen a lick of paint since the forties.

Doesn't look like much to get excited about though the pitch looks great.

Main gripe about that stand is the pillars in front. A Self suspended roof or support pillars further back into the stand offer a far better view.
Its very slow work with markets fields so far. It would be much better to put in a pitch length stand on one side.
That's supposed to be what it will look like when its finished. How close they get to it remains to be seen. It will only take shape when the bigger stand they other side is put in.

I suppose they want to get it useable as fast as possible. The money for the pitch-length stand might not be in it.

The numerous poles seems to be another instance of them not giving a toss about the people the stadium is actually for.

Its very sad to see the way things are going down there.
When Limerick were promoted I was very optimistic and thought they could really add something to the league.
It just seems O`Sulivan has given up completely.
Its a pity, because despite what has happened I think a well run Limerick with a good home ground could be very successful.

We had 1728 tonight our highest attd of the season (yay) cork had maybe 200 which in fairness is a massive increase on the 20 they usually bring.

We have around 1500 normal fans, 2500 fans when playing Rovers/Bohs and 1000 for everyone else even tho we play sexy football and have seats and stuff............ I dont get upset about **** attendances in a league with **** attendances.

But someone said something earlier that was a bit odd, we bring 25% of our total fanbase away (100% when playing rovers away:rolleyes:)

What we did to them this time around was even sweeter than a tonking. They played a 10-0-0 formation and we kept huffing and puffing and banging at their door all evening. Just when they think they're going home with a point and all their doors and windows intact.....boom Richie Towell blows the whole Drogs house down.

The looks on their poor wee shell shocked faces was a joy to behold. Oriel was rocking and the good guys went home with all the points. One of the better late goal roars.

Wondering would anyone know if there's a Dublin version of one of these floating about for the LOI clubs, namely Bohs, Rovers, Shels and Pats. Be great to get a visual on it and see how places like Ringsend and Tallaght are distributed. Or could we have a go at making one?!

The 1895 Trust ballot shows that 95% of Shels fans are opposed to a move to Dalymount. This needs to be respected by DCC and the FAI.

    Worrying time for Shels.

Whats up with Bohs charging for Commentary this season, is that true? €30 for the season or €5 a game? Is it all games or only home?

It's a few fans running it it's not official, the fans volunteer at home games and all money received is used to pay / rent equipment.
