I'd hold off on getting rid of Zouma for a bit. Cahill had a poor game against PSG and was at fault for their goal. Zouma will start at the weekend I'd say.

Wouldn't say nailed on but I think of the lot he is most likely.

Think I will focus on my defence.

Might just go with changing Courtois as he will be out for the next GW anyway!

I'm thinking of getting oscar in as a 1 wk punt myself

I didn't see the game! Thanks. In that case it's wisdom has too go for lescot (I think he's nailed on too start) and might do hutton (will Sherwood stick with him?) too alderwild but thats not a priority!

A single captain differential could cover that gap so I'd not worry too much about it.

If you're happy with your choices mid-term, that's the main thing. And mid-term Yaya seems a no-brainer over Puncheon. Much much better fixtures. City have to get results (doesn't mean they will but they'll try hard to reduce the gap and we can expect Yaya to (re)become central to them and bomb forward as he likes).

I guess you can't do Puncheon -> Yaya as a direct swap. But wouldn't Puncheon -> Silva work without the big pts hit. You could take care of Naylor & Wisdom next week.

I'm not sure Jag & Everton are really worth £5.5m in defence. They've just had a great run defensively speaking and are ahead of a very nice game CS-wise but this looks like very much City before Christmas. Many teams seem to go on CS patches this year (Newcastle, Arsenal, City, Everton etc...) but can't keep long-term good returns bar Chelsea & Saints.

So I'd get a def I'd be happy to play every week (to partner Terry) 'till at least GW33-34-35 when there's a shift in fixtures (some teams will host twice in a row while some would go away twice in a row ; fixtures will also get tougher (WBA) or more comfortable (Leicester)) because if you try to catch one of these good CS patches you may just end up getting a player when the CS patch is over .

I'm .1 short of a straight swap of Punch to Silva, hence the predicament. :pac: Everton have a pretty reasonable run of fixtures and Jag is a BP magnet atm. I dunno. Might do it anyway. It'll either kill the battered writhing remains of my season off once and for all, or revive it. I've been doing terribly so I'm not opposed to trying something a bit mad.

Is that being a bit harsh on Cahill, I saw the goal and bits of the game but didn't see or read the analysis, was Cahill really blamed for the goal, the cross was absolutely perfect for Cavani, barring standing on the exact spot that Cavani was or fouling him I don't see what anybody could have done to prevent that goal.

Anyway the fact that Cahill was picked for that match suggests to me that he is still slightly ahead of Zouma in the pecking order. Still likely that Zouma will start this weekend.

    Ah right :o...

True that Everton's fixtures are "reasonable" as you said ;). Just checked up to GW38 and actually thought it was tougher. Arsenal away & Spurs home on GW38 being the only real tough games (though from GW34-35 onwards teams fighting against relegation could become more dangerous in reality than on paper), I mean they have a reasonavble chance of a CS in all the other ones.

My only concern would be is their recent CS patch just an episode as many teams showed up to now? Or a real improvement at the back? Though you could argue that could be said for most teams.
So long-term your defence'd be Terry & Jag + one of you cheap 3-way rotation? Considering you have Saints GK it could actually work out nicely as a "little bit mad" alternative ;).

I'd hold off on getting Costa until the DGW (if then). He is on 8 yellow cards so 1 more yellow and he is just 1 yellow away from a 2 game ban. I won't be getting Costa for the DGW if he is on 9 yellow cards already as chances are He'll be banned for the 2nd game.
If he's still on 8 yellows going into GW28 I'll get him then.

If not costa then im guessing sturidge is a better bet then rvp? I don't like the idea of 3 liverpool players tho

    I have 15.7m to spend on 1 5th midfielder and a striker.

I'm thinking Sturidge and taking a chance in Ibe.

    (Already have Aguero and Kane).

    Thoughts?

Am I mad to be thinking of Lukaku??? He is such a streaky player and seems to be on form... though I have been burned by him too many times to count at this point

Hello, he scored a hat-trick against young boys.
Jumpers for goal posts and all that.

One goal and one assist in the EPL in the last ten games.

Since when does one game = form?

Well it's pretty save as far as 'little bit mad' goes () but the -8 is scary. Still I need to do something and if I don't make these subs I'd only be doing a -4 next week as well as a -4 this week anyway so it'd be a -8 either way. I'm just gonna do it and it'll either kill my season or give it a boost. :P

Costa definitely if you have him.

    Who is ibra?

Dummett had to go before Wisdom due to the stupid injury. However, with Wisdom and Wasi unlikely to start (I'm clinging to some small hope there) and Bellerin doubtful i'm wondering if I should take a hit to ensure i've 3 defenders playing. I could afford moving either one to Zouma but am afraid of his rotation risk.

Don't know what to do this GW. Current 11 is:

    Foster

    Jones Terry PVA

    Hazard Sanchez Di Maria Sterling

    Aguero Kane Defoe

Subs: Hutton (if Jones doesn't play) Boyd Santon (don't ask)

2.5m ITB. Any thoughts? Possibly Defoe to Giroud or Di Maria to Yaya?

Need rid of wisdom, have 1.2m

Jones, Bellerin, PVA, Clichy and Wisdom,

With none guaranteed to play i've to take a minus 4.

Wanted Wollscheid but think Villa and Hull will both score now.

Keep an eye out for Koeman's press conference to see if Alderweireld is fit. He's a bargain for his price given he's a starter for the best defence in the league. Thinking of doing Wasilewski to him if he's passed as fit.

Why not wait until after this GW anyway? Saints play Liverpool so getting a clean sheet will be tough.

I'm either going to bank this week or next anyway. Bellerin being doubtful has forced my hand, so wouldn't mind having Alder on the bench as a back up as opposed to Was who probably won't play.

Cause Sunderland have been muck, team playing that bad no one is safe from chop, either through formation change or direct replacement, he is prob my safest though.

    Alderwood :)

I propose we abbreviate Alderweireld to Toby.

Though some of the spellings are hilarious.

Looks like a good differential, which I considered myself but didn't have the cojones to do! I can see Hull's form turning around with the appointment of Phelan. I need to dump Austin so was looking at N'Doye and Ideye as cheap options

McAuley, 5 clean sheets in 11 appearances. Has played 90 mins in the last 11 games, didnt play a minute before that, seems to be a definite starter for wb these days. I think i will be bringing him or Lescott in next gw for wisdom.

Janmaat seems to pick up points fairly regularly ...although they've a tough enough run coming up. or What about one of the stoke boys...they seem to have an ok run in.
And as the other poster said above ...Cant got wrong with a bit of west brom coverage.

Most transferred in defender is Jagielka, at 5.5m i can get him, but thinking Lescott will be better longterm?

Yea I'd pick Lescott ahead of Jagielka and save yourself 0.5. I can see Everton's form suffering cos of Europe.

Serious head wrecking going on all week.. Dunno who to start out of these 5 defensive options..terry clyne Hutton Bruce PVA ... Terry nailed on to keep a cs it looks so will deffo start, as to the other 4 guys haven't a clue who to play, Cline starts every week but this week he looks vunserable to concede a couple perhaps?

Like many I'm planning on shipping out Wisdom this week, Hull have a decent run of fixtures coming up and McShane is only 3.9 and played the last two games, anyone know if he was filling in for someone or will he continue to start for the next few weeks?

There was talk of Bruce being a better path in somewhere on here. 3.9 as well.

My team isnt the greatest condition with doubts over Defoe and Bellerin and Geoff Cameroon suspended. I think im just going to go Cameroon to Woolshield. Im not sure though, I think ill play my wildcard the week of the double gameweek so basically I have 6.6m to spend on a defender for the next 2 gameweeks. Any thoughts?

    Full team:
    De Gea Hamer
    Terry Bellerin Clyne Cameron Wisdom
Di Maria Sanchez Mane Hazard Boyd
    Aguero Kane Defoe

    £2.4m in the bank.

What are people's thoughts on Jordan Ibe? Seems to be doing well but will he retain his place when Gerrard is fit again? Was looking at him as my cheap 5th m/f and if he was guaranteed 3 pts a week and possibly a bonus (based on his recent performances it's possible) he might be an option.
