higher maths question

    Any help greatly appreciated with this got the 1st part but stuck with 2nd part

    Well z^2 works out to be -2-2root3i

    so z^2 +pz is -2-2root3i-p+proot3i

    If the whole thing is real then -2root3i + proot3i =0
    Divide everything by root 3 i and you are left with p = 2.

    Hope that reads okay with all the roots!!
