Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Matic reacted too lightly if anything, a belt in the jaw wouldn't go astray for that.

    Absolute filth challenge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,779 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

Still a pity Matic didn't keep the head, might end up costing us more than this game

  • Registered Users Posts: 429 ✭✭BarcodeMuncher

If I was Abramovich I would give Mourinho a million quid just to absolutely lace into that disgraceful referee and that scumbag Barnes, was at it all game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

    Shocking by the ref

I'd agree, I reckon Spurs will beat us too without Matic.

Joke of a game today, missing chance after chance abut getting nothing from the ref is an absolute disgrace.

Any chance of a link to the post match conference am absorbed now

I'm actually fuming. The standard of reffing has been so poor this season. It's been f*cking months since we've gotten a penalty, with at least 10 incidents that warranted one. We are actually being denied them on a game to game basis now. Are they really trying to keep the league interesting for everyone else or do referees just not like us? It's sickening.

I thought they would before to be honest, was with a 2 of the lads that support Chelsea last night and we all agreed we weren't really looking forward to it.

Please god don't have Cahill up against Harry Kane Jose.

Refs are just s**t is what I'd guess, these decisions are a joke though.

Draws against Southampton and Burnley when stonewall penalties arent being given is a f**king joke.

"Wonder if Martin Atkinson's wife knows that he's ****ing us" haha

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

I think Chelsea should appeal the Matic red and TSHO should blow the lid in the post match conference almost challenge the FA to charge him

  • Registered Users Posts: 429 ✭✭BarcodeMuncher

If he costs us I want Costa to nut him

Stand by this, fuming, robbed again

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Just seen it once again on NBC the scumbag leaves the ground and you can see Matic's leg bend such is the force, lucky we will only miss him for 3 games that could have ended his season

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,453 ✭✭✭Sheepy99

Everyone obviously has a bit of dislike toward most of the officials in the league, but for the first time I actually think that one of them has their own personal bias. What the **** kind of **** was that? The state of Atkinson, the dirty guard's head on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

I've not seen any post match stuff but TBH we're getting f**ked left, right and centre by refs at this stage its a joke, actually no, its gone well beyond on a joke at this stage.

Everyone thinks the refs or the system are against them but TBH we've got enough terrible calls against us now at this stage surely we're due some luck or even a fair call or is that too much to ask?

30, 33 43 and 69 these are the minutes that changed the game according to TSHO. He will not be drawn on anything else surprised we did not lose all 3 points he finished with. Disappointed with that he should have launched a broadside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

I think Chelsea should appeal the Matic red
Just so he can have a 4 match ban instead? I'm failing to see the point here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,405 ✭✭✭Lukker-

Here's his post match to the BBC, he's relatively calm, avoiding an FA charge.
"No [the red card did not change things]. There are four moment of the game where you can write the story. Minutes 30, 33, 43 and 69. Don't ask me more questions.
"I can't go through the incidents. I am punished when I refer to these situations and I don't want to be punished. I believe in spite of some clear callers, you guys are honest and professional, the callers can disturb the truth. I truly believe you are all honest people.
"To describe I have to use words that I cannot. It is better we finish. I don't want to look silly in front of you. I am surprised we didn't lose.
"I believe in your honesty and I believe you want to do a good service to English football. I am not paid to comment on the pundits work. Sometimes I do but I shouldn't."

    Annoyed is an understatement!!!
As much as I hate the ref I'm pissed we couldn't score again!!
When we were bossing the game with chance after chance I had a dirty feeling it could be a bad day at the office.

We needed a jimmy floyd hasslebaink type rasper!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Thing isGav if the refs are just bad then they are bad for everyone and things will balance out. When they are biased and I believe that ref is then there is no chance it can only go against you. Atkinson needs to be sacked with immediate effect.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

I don't think FA would increase it may take the point that it was not violent conduct and reduce to 1

Is that violent conduct? I know it's a straight red, but I actually think that was a measured response on the scheme of things.

Barnes knew exactly what he was doing too, not only did he leave his leg in after the ball but he actually raised it and his studs. Went for the unprotected part of Matic's leg too. Cowardly, you'd get knocked out if you did that in a Sunday League game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

You should never have to hope the refs dont f**k ya with decisions, we should be scoring 2 or 3 at home against the likes of Burnley.

Next few games are huge, losing to Spurs could f**k up our season and confidence and TBH I dont think we'll win it, dont know why.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

It's quite clearly violent conduct, he pushes him to the ground. That's never getting reduced - if not violent conduct, why was he sent off? A professional foul? Handling on the line?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Barnes should have been red carded, he didnt even get booked for it whidch was worse.

City have a league game next week while we play the league cup final so when they win the next 2 games they'll be 2 points behind us but we'll have a game in hand that has to be played at the end of April.

I need a drink or 5 to console myself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

I am interested to see if the same witch hunt that followed Costa follows this, and no I don't think that was violent conduct.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Quite ironic but I will, but if Atkinson is reffing Liverpool will be hammered.
