Fingers crossed. Hope more than expectation though. We haven't looked good recently.

Interestingly the 4 teams batting first so far have won their games

West Indies build up hasn't been good either, think it might be quite close, and an Irish performance anywhere near what they are capable of, they could win it.

And all four teams scored 300 plus batting first...... 2 each on the bigger Australian and smaller NZ grounds

I would defo bat first if it is a day night game.....

Is 300 - 320 the par score in ODI's now?!

Its close to it anyway. Aim seems to be get to 40 overs with wickets in hand and them knock off 100-120 in the last 10 overs. They are all so used to the t20 now its no bother to them

Cant wait for the game to start!!

I think we should stick to the same team that beat Bangladesh, cant see any reason to reinclude Cusack if I'm honest.

Here's hoping for a great performance and a win. Will be up till about 5 AM I reckon!

You would imagine this is the most crucial game for Ireland. This is the scalp needed to make qualification a possibility.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves with the qualification talk. Both WI and Zim strong favourites to beat us, Zim even more so after the strong showing today

I can't help feeling today is D-Day for Ireland if we are going to try and batter down the door to shame the inner circle into giving some respect and means of progression to the associate teams. The omens are that Ireland are slipping back a bit so if we don't make a significant dent tonight we might not get another chance for a long time.

    Bumble has Ireland as favourites...

Ireland win the toss and will bowl. Strange given how the tournament has gone so far. Windies capt Holder says he would have bowled too if he won it

Ireland win the toss and choose to field

EDIT - like wot Kev just said!

Great throw by McBrine (probably justified his inclusion already!!). Pity Gayle hadn't attempted to get back, but still great to see the back of Bravo

That does really put some pressure on Gayle who (hopefully!) may be a bit more reticent as a result

Slightly off-topic but what's the story with Boyd Rankin now? Presume he's not really at the races in terms of the England setup?
