Halogen light flashing when Turing off

Hi looking for some quick advice. Have an external halogen sensor floodlight over the front door. It worked fine for years but lately as it goes to turn off it goes into a sequence of multiple flashes before stopping. It started doing this exactly 7 flashes as it was finishing for a few months. But now it is worse and it is signing off with exactly 12 flashes.

My question is any ideas if this is a problem with bulb/sensor/something else? Is there a fix or does it need a whole replacement. Neighbours aren't impressed

Replace the entire unit with a quality sensor light such as a Stinel.
I would consider LED if I were you. Considerable savings to be made in terms of running costs.
