Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I,M looking for advice where to go, in dublin for a ipod repair .
    i have a classic 120 gig .

Should i go to one of the shops in moore st ,that fix phones, ipods ,laptops.
    i plugged it in today,
the menu came up for 5 seconds,
    music, video,

then screen comes up with connect device to power for 2 seconds.

if i plug it in now nothing comes up.
    screen does not light up.

MY sister gave me this ,
it has not been charged since 2011.
    will it still be chargeable?
will i need to get a new battery installed.
I,m using usb to ipod cable.

    Update ,
    i plugged it in today,
It,s plugged in at the moment,
so now if i press menu button apple white logo appears,
sometimes the battery symbol appears, for 1 second,
it says connect to a power source.
Battery appears to be at 99 per cent empty.

It could be a battery issue however it may also be an issue with the harddrive which is relatively common in a device that old. If its the harddrive nobody can help you really unless you want to pay mega money. If its just a battery replacement it should cost about €40 or so. Be careful of shops on Moore st as theyre more keen to take your money than fix your device properly. If you'd like a recommendation of a repair place I've had success with let me know and I'll PM you.

    Update,
i left it plugged in for 130minutes,
battery looked to be 90 per cent full
    it has 26gig of music,
i was able to scroll thru menu,
    look at songs,settings etc

    i plugged it out.
after about 7 minutes it drained ,from 90 per cent to zero power ,
    battery says no power,
    plug in to power source.

eg My diagnosis is battery is nearly dead .

I,LL Leave it in somewhere get a new battery installed .
    i presume drive is ok,
i see settings, drive, 93gig free space,
    26gig used .
I can scroll thru music, and coverflow pics, album art ,
or set pics to display art album cover randomly.

Pm me jay26kie re place to leave in for repair .

    It,s Like an old phone,
battery lasts just a few minutes,

charging icon does not appear at any time,
but if i press menu ,
when its plugged into my pc,
i can sometimes see battery icon,in the top right of screen display.
