Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Manchester United travel to Deepdale to face League One side Preston North End in the final tie of the round. United have been in unspectacular form but are picking up results while Preston put out recent cup specialists Sheffield United in the previous round. Simon Grayson is the manager of Preston North End and he masterminded a previous cup upset against United while in charge of Leeds United, when the then-League One side knocked out the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Previous meetings (courtesy of the BBC) :

This is the seventh time these sides have been drawn together in the FA Cup, with Manchester United progressing four times and Preston twice.

This is the first meeting in any competition since Manchester United won 2-0 at Deepdale in the FA Cup fourth round in February 1972.

    Team news to follow.

Gonna be a bit scrappy imo. What's their pitch like?

No idea. This one's not long for the world anyway I'd say. zerks put his up first.

That's a funny way of spelling 'Zerks' :D

    What's your record like Winston??

Obviously we should be winning this game 10 times out of 10, but given our struggles against MK Dons, Yeovil and Cambridge I am not banking on a win.

Now that I said that, we'll win 5-0.

Surely Herrera and Mata will start?

Going on form this should be a close one but I'm completely biased so I'm saying United to win 3-1 with a Herrara hattrick.

Going for a tough battling draw. Out away record is poor even against lower league teams and I can't see that changing.

Maybe a poor draw and a home win in the replay.

This fixture in years gone past: 3/4 youth lads start.

Now: Full first XI. Valdez won't even get a look in.

The times they are a changin.

Thankfully the pitch tonight won't be a mud bath like Bradford, some 5000 United fans will be in the " Bill Shankley" kop end, hopefully all our goals go in that end ;-)
