Just said I would throw this out there in case anybody was interested in becoming/doing some american football officiating.

There is a training course on for new officials this Saturday, 21st February in Citywest, Dublin.

I've been officiating as a player for the past 6 or 7 years. It's interesting, you get to see the game from another perspective.

Officiating could be a great way to get your football fix through the NFL/CFB offseason without putting your body at risk :D

The IAFL is always looking for new officials so if you are interested and want to know more or have any questions fire away here or shoot me a mail through here.

Who gives you the most grief, the players or the coaches?

Depends on how heated game is. You never really get grief from players, its kind of like rugby in that sense. They will try to be pally in general in hope of getting a decision.

Coaches can be a mixed bunch but a flag sorts that fairly lively.

Just to add there is also a match fee as well as expenses to and from game. Anyone in Galway or surrounds interested drop the warriors a message on fb.
