3 eagles and a birdie on the 4 par 5s today for Dustin Johnson, surely a Masters record.

I'm really not a fan of Paul McGinley on commentary. Every slightly interesting point or critique is followed by a litany of awkward fumbling and fawning cliche.

"See anything that would have Rory's swing at maybe 80% this week Paul?"

    - um ah
    - so hard to pick holes
    - so strong
    - maybe a little inside the line
    - but so strong
    - so hard to pick holes
    - number 1 in the world
    - don't do what he's done if

I don't necessarily object to him personally because he is his ex captain but if he is compromised what's he doing in the comm box? It's boring and leads to bland nothingness.

Can't imagine Jamie Carragher commenting on Liverpool's recent bad form, with "so hard to pick holes, um ah" etc

If Rose and DJ get to finish around -9 it will be an interesting weekend.

It'll be interesting anyway. Would only take Speith to have a 74 and someone to have a 68 or 69 and his lead is gone. There's still a long way to go!

I certainly think Dustin could be in the mix. Playing some lovely stuff. Now -8!

because i cant see it i can say this ?
perhaps in frustration with a pina colada in hand.

but hardly 36 holes about 10 can win it.

Is that a good major. ?

    DJ is on FIRE.

Dustin is the people's choice at this stage I'd say! One hell of a round from him, definitely pulling for him this weekend, but a win for Spieth could kickstart a phenomenal career.

DJ over speith any day of the week

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    What's wrong with Spieth?

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭bicboy6666

just find him boring imo and plus DJ doing well makes watching it more exciting

Yes, it is. No one has carded three eagles in a single round at the Masters before. We need someone to stay in touch with Spieth

Hard to get behind Spieth when we never saw him play!

he's a bit of a moan bag i find. cribbing and moaning to himself after perfectly fine shots. something I've noticed him do over the past year or so.

love to see rose, casey or johnson put him under pressure and make this thing interesting tomorrow.

on a side note, for some reason i find myself wanting a confident smile at an affordable price...

    Why was that ?
    Coverage didnt start until 8.
Thats mad, why didnt sky show more of Spieth ?
Because they didnt have a feed from the US.
Crazy. She should have shown it.
    They couldnt.
Why not ? Its a major and we should have been able to watch it earlier.
    Is it masters tradition ?
    Yes.
    No. Its US TV.
Crazy. Love the all day BBC coverage of the open.
    No ads too.
    But its moving to sky.
    What ???
    Yeh.
Why didnt they start the live coverage of the Masters earlier though ?

Summary for those of you who dont want to read 30 pages from earlier.

Great shot from Rory, looks a safe bet he'll still be there tomorrow. Top 10 finish is a good target for him if he is.
