Putin should realise that the only powers allowed to invade foreign countries and depose their leaders is the US and its vassal states. Including the medieval theocracy of Saudi.

    Ukrainian government tried...

Just to let you know, in English, we tend to use articles preceding nouns or in this case adjectives.

You should really have said "The Ukrainian government". Otherwise it sounds a bit Russian and that can come across a bit weird in a thread about Putin.

The russian army were only in the port. They did not control the whole of crimea. It was an invasion of a sovereign state. This just shows you for what you really are.
The majority in Crimea are Russian and want to be part of the Russian Federation, get over it.
Would you like to discuss Khrushchev's decision to hand over Crimea from Russia to Ukraine? No one in Crimea was consulted but you seem to have no problem with Khrushchev's undemocratic decision.

Was that not the ussr which doesn't exist anymore so how could russia have a claim to Ukraine exactly

Crimea was part of Russia since 1945. It only returned to Ukraine after the Soviet Union collapse. Ukraine was not called that till then. Prior to that, the land was occupied by the Ottomans and Cossacks before that.

I see helicopters flying across a rural area those helicopters are not hovering over Sevastopol city. The video and pictures from the city only show soldiers.

The last video the Russians had already established themselves in the area for weeks. I never saw Russian tanks blocking streets in Sevastopol city. The people are ethnically Russian to say the Crimea people are Ukrainian and felt the Russians are occupiers is not true. They welcomed them with open arms.

Tatars have disappeared since Crimea was annexed. Doors of their homes were marked. Been pretty fearful for them I imagine. Sounds like Nazi behaviour to me...

Don't always agree with the Young Turks but the guy has interesting analysis on the Pentagon sending warships to the black sea. America needs to be careful we don't slip towards a war that will destroy the world.

They have been there for decades under agreement to keep the black sea open for the 6 other countries who happen to share the black sea ,
One single ship isn't a show of force it's just replacing another ship already there ,

    No big news story unfortunately

The US is protecting its own "interests" and the other six countries mean nothing to them.

Ukraine didn't exist as a state either. It was part of the Soviet Union as well.
After the breakup of the Soviet Union the Crimeans expressed continuously their desire to NOT be a part of an independent Ukraine.

That is conveniently overlooked by many.

So 90% of the population applied for and received Ukrainian passports and an attempt at passportisation by russia failed when they weren't taken up .

    Says it all

They have no say in the matter. America has bombed or invaded over 50 countries since WW2. Along with funding terrorist organizations around the world and using their economic leverage to target sanctions against countries that get in their way, smaller countries can't stand up to the bully.

It doesn't say it all. Crimea requested a referendum in the early 90's to secede from Ukraine. You're trying to say that Kruschev's transfer of Crimea to Ukraine is meaningless because the USSR no longer exists. That kind of stupid argument says it all. Whatever stipulation you are trying to make about the USSR no longer existing then you must apply to the status of Ukraine at the time as well.

Didn't really think that one through did you?

If Russia has no claim to Crimea because it didn't exist as an independent state at the time of Crimea being ceded then by you own logic Ukraine has no claim either since it too did not exist as an independent state. Would love to see your hoop-jumping on that score.

Putin's new arsenal of hypersonic nuclear vehicles has also shocked NATO and quite frankly made Trump like an even bigger fool.

Crimea was always part of Ukraine before statehood and after statehood ,

They had autonomy to a degree but not enough majority to force any change unfortunately ,

Thought it though quite well unlike ^

1997 treaty between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Russia recognized Ukraine’s borders, and accepted Ukraine’s sovereignty over Crimea

    Mecanno

    Mutes your point .

No, it wasn't. Crimea was part of Russia for over 200 years and this preceded the USSR.

    So that "mutes" YOUR point.

Or did you mean that the point is moot?

In 1991 94% of Crimeans voted to become an autonomous Republic. In 1994 they reaffirmed that they did not wish to be part of a Ukrainian State.

In 2014 they once again reaffirmed this. Now you can make up stories all you want about coercion and "little green men" and a bunch of other nonsense. The fact remains that the Crimeans have NEVER wanted to be governed by Kiev and have always wanted to be part of Russia.

You don't like that fact so you make up stories about 300% of the population voting or other such silliness.

You make up stories about Tatars and about how the Crimeans are now living under oppression. Why don't you actually go there and see if Crimea is living under the kind of fake tyranny that you are trying to sell?

Your story doesn't work, mate because it's patently untrue and nobody's buying it.

You also conveniently chose to omit the fact that the 1997 "Friendship Pact" ensured the respect by both parties regarding citizens in each land.

This was blatantly violated by Kiev when then announced ethnic cleansing of Novorrusians and sent death squads to Crimea.

You can't have it both ways.

    Kiev welshed on multiple deals.
The Crimeans asked for and received protection.
They are happy now and safe.

You don't like that because it doesn't sit with your narrative.

    Tough sh1t.

Actually it was around 52-54 % russians living in Crimea ,
Not 94 % of Crimea which somehow became 120+% but why did no Ukrainians vote,
And why did this apparent 94% you claim turn down russian passports opting for Ukrainian passports .

    No ,

    Nothing,

Have you anything other than putinganda

You also seem to be conveniently ignoring the post 1991 vote in Crimea whereby 78% voted for increased autonomy from Kiev.

The Crimeans established a President and a Constitution. These were abolished by Kiev in 1995.

Now you talk about bully-boy Nazi tactics yet choose to ignore these facts. Smacks of hypocrisy to me.

This was both underhanded and illegitimate.

Again you don't like uncomfortable truths because they fly in the face of your narrative.

    Like I said, tough sh1t.

How is the fact that Crimea was part of Russia "propaganda"?

You stated it wasn't and now dance off in other directions.

You tried to make some claim that when Khruschev ceded Crimea to Ukraine in 1954 it was not a bona fide claim to have it returned sinced Russia wasn't an independent state at the time. Yet neither was Ukraine...so you dance off again like a little sprite and come up with terms like "putinganda"

You try to split seed about 94% versus 92.3% as if that's something that holds water.

You try to maintain some rubbish about passports and how that means an entire nation wants to remain under the governance of Kiev.

    You're a parody, mister. A parody.

    One other thing,

in his speech at the Valdai Meeting expressed his desire for there to be GLOBAL healthcare.
Anyone who has any kind of fear for their health would welcome this concept. Does this sound like the talk of a man who is the "new Hitler"?

Yet not one in Washington would back such an initiative. Too much money to be lost fleecing the sick.

He went on to talk about climate change.

“Ladies and gentlemen, one more issue that shall affect the future of the entire humankind is climate change. … I suggest that we take a broader look at the issue….What we need is an essentially different approach, one that would involve introducing new, groundbreaking, nature-like technologies that would not damage the environment, but rather work in harmony with it, enabling us to restore the balance between the biosphere and technology upset by human activities.
It is indeed a challenge of global proportions. And I am confident that humanity does have the necessary intellectual capacity to respond to it. We need to join our efforts, primarily engaging countries that possess strong research and development capabilities, and have made significant advances in fundamental research. We propose convening a special forum under the auspices of the UN to comprehensively address issues related to the depletion of natural resources, habitat destruction, and climate change. Russia is willing to co-sponsor such a forum”

Again we have oil men and coal barons in Washington calling IPCC scientists a bunch of conspiracy theorists while they continue to get loaded on polluting the environment and the very constituents that they have conned.

And still you think this guy is Satan? And Trump is Jesus.

    Give me a break.

Wasn't Putin suposed to invade Lithuania last year or the year before? What happened to that turd of a myth?

Bombers buzzing Ireland, subs about to invade Sweden, homosexuals being rounded up and sent to the Archipelago.

    Please. What a laugh.

Putin is contemptible. Universal global healthcare - what a joke! Did he offer to fund it and wind back Russia's military expansionism - no - he proudly announced the development of a new missile capable of hitting anywhere on earth. Judge him by what he does, not what he says, as with most people.

A cheap line that countries with actually meaningful economies would have to pay for. It's like a beggar suggesting all the rich people in the world should give away all their money to the poor so they can beg too.

That you fall for such blindingly obvious disingenuous dissembling by that proven liar is unsurprising.

Climate change is the biggest con in human history, even bigger than the one that cholesterol causes heart disease, so Putin flapping his witless gums on another topic chosen solely to make him look good doesn't impress.

Got this far and then realised what kind of deluded person I'm dealing with. So thousands of scientists within the IPCC are all part of a massive conspiracy, eh?

If this is the drivel that you come out with then just about everything out of your mouth can be discounted.
