Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yes it is.

You beat GBX who was already very close with Pale.

I presume the Lion's mouth was the giveaway, espeically when added to drinking reference ?

BTW it is on main road south from Rethimno to Agia Galini.

    Well done!

That has to be the one that had me frustrated the most. Day one I had figured the bank on the right was a branch of the Piraeus Bank, but damned if I could find it, because the Piraeus Bank's webside Greek section was down over the weekend... aarrrrrgh. :D

That was first (and will undoubtedly be the last) time I've ever recognised something right off the bat on this thread :D

Will have a hunt around for a new one in the next few mins.

And I just thought no one could be ar**ed over the weekend.
Saying that i wasn't in any shape to monitor on Saturday evening :D:D

I had nothing to do with bank websites being down. ;)
I didn't think it would be so hard as it is on a busy route across the island.

Granted there is a more famous church/monastery in the village that appears on lots of links.

Ehh look up lions head and Crete, it comes up.
It is a very famous fountain, hence the previous reference to a place to drink.

It is Rue de Bram, Louhans, Burgundy.

And that is a New Holland L95 circa 1996-1997 in the FiatAgri livery before they all became New Holland/Ford blue.

That's some impressive tractor trivia. Louhans is correct, well done.

It's Cadman Plaza West in Brooklyn, NY - alternative street view in the lovely sunshine below:

    https://www.google.ie/maps/@40.6952802,-73.9909438,3a,75y,178.04h,88.26t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sX4AhfZOXM9U6pC4edXBqWQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

But I don't know what the current news story is. The death of Sean Price?

Would be very grateful if somebody else would like to take my turn as I'm supposed to be packing and not getting very far with it ;).

    I think Kat was right.

Sadly most people have gotten the opinion that US newsworthy at least means mass slaughter, race riot after latest police shooting, some Irish people being killed in US or one of the Kardashians showing their ar** or having a sex change.

About the only political realted thing people now consider newsworthy is Donald Trump switching which foot he has in his mouth. :D

Don't do that, the thread would die a quick death without you!
The mix of old and new is great here - I've been a lurker on boards for years and years but this is the first thread I've ever properly engaged with. I'm sure there are lots more like me. Get posting with your random pictures! Honestly, it's great. You'll learn lots of fascinating details about places you've never heard of, and there are endless possibilities for justifying chronic procrastinative tendencies. I've added many locations from here to my admittedly fanciful to-do list, but there's no better place to start. It's all in good fun :).

Ah Fred I only meant to try and get some others interested.
I was lurking on the other thread for a while before I finally got a chance.

Now I am able to find some international ones reasonably easy so have had a good few chances to post, so would like others to get the chance to post.

As it is some people have left because either some pics weren't descriptive enough for them or their notion of guessing is not as flexible and we are not following some pretty strict rules.

Well the other thread is dying becuase some of those rules make it more difficult and as someone said over there either you either know it or you don't bother your ass.

    Exactly.
    Well said.

I will admit I have learned a huge amount and have added a few places as must see.
I could even profile some people around here.
Fred not so much, as he appears to know everywhere.
I always try and add a snippet of trivia about a place.
Maybe I am just too much of a fan of QI. :o

Saying that I have also noted a few places not to visit. :D
