Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sad news from Italy as Parma fold due to financial problems

This was their squad for the 1998/99 season:

Some fall from grace. Story here about how it all went wrong for them:

    http://worldsoccertalk.com/2015/02/13/parmas-road-to-ruin-and-how-the-once-proud-italian-club-were-sold-for-1/

Their initial saviour, Calisto Tanzi, ended up ruining the club.

Sad to see a club that I really enjoyed watching in the 90's are no more.

    Go on the lads.

It's not the end, they'll come back under a slightly different name.

Sure the current Napoli is only around since 2004.

Reading numerous reports that they haven't actually dissolved yet. May still last the season.

Hope they can keep going at a reasonably high level. But it's sad to see any Club in trouble, and a lesson on how financial mis-management can threaten every team in Football

Eurosport seems to have deleted the tweet, that's the end of me thinking they're a reliable source.

Didn't something similar happen Fiorentina a few years back?

No reason why they can't bounce back in similar fashion.

Napoli, Fiorentina,... are still the same clubs for most Italians I believe.
Napoli was technically reformed but I believe they are basically seen as a continuation of the club that went bankrupt in 2004.

No reason this can't happen for Parma, always quite liked them.

Their match this weekend was called off due to the club being unable to pay stewards and police. Players havent been paid since the summer. Something like €96M in debt. 3 owners already this season. Doesnt look good. Probably will be dissolved and reformed in Serie C like Fiorentina and Napoli were.
