Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Another peno chance - maybe the ref is factoring in the weather ;)

Well that's a Liverpool pen turned down.

Should be a penalty for Liverpool. Definite foul on Sterling.

    Seriously, is that ref blind?

The referee is making allowances for the pitch/weather but that's still a penalty all day long.

Do refs watch these incidents back during the break?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

    Got the ball I thought

Well you're entitled to be wrong, a wonderful privilege

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,276 ✭✭✭Memnoch

Not really even. First was a pen and sending off for Can, completely different game, second a clear pen also. Ref trying to make up for his catastrophic mistakes earlier.

I say this as someone who'd like to see Liverpool pip United to the top four, but not with the help of an incompetent ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,319 ✭✭✭emo72

poor auld ref will have to watch MOTD tonight with a bottle of whiskey to numb the pain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

He won the ball in fairness

Southampton reallly look like an excellent outfit all around the pitch. Should be a couple up at this stage.

Liverpool on the other hand have Lovren, Joe Allen and Mingnolet...

First instinct was peno, then thought replay the 2nd showed him getting the ball before taking the man.

Just saw it again there, I stand by it.

Surely at this point everyone know that winning the ball doesn't give you carte blanche right? right?

Non stupid people most likely do.

Southampton seem to think you can just shove people in the back. So irate when those are given against them, it's hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,496 ✭✭✭quarryman

That was an unreal tackle on Sterling. How could anyone honestly consider that a penalty?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

Lallana has really done nothing I'd bring Sturridge on at half time

Well they have thrown Ashley Barnes to the wolves yesterday even though he played the ball before his follow through connected with Matic

    ******

Are you allowed take the man too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,882 ✭✭✭✭klose

God allen has been awful, id suggest sub him but we have no fcuking midfielders of any description on the bench

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

He won the ball in fairness

It was his trailing leg that got the ball. No control on that tackle at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

these conditions are exactly what sturridge does not need to play in right now

Because Sterling flicked the ball by him, the ball happened to brush off the tackler, and then he absolutely milled the man. He at no point won possession of the ball.
