There is a lot of noise about repossessions at the moment and how it is unfair on homeowners etc and of course there is a lot of sad stories out there. However there is a lot of people hiding behind these sad stories. We're we live people claim it's their residence when it's clearly not so when it goes to court it is flagged as a repossessions of a 'family home'. Many of these are registered in names of relatives of developers but they are really letting them out for cash and haven't paid the morgage for years. This is very frustrating for people who are being held to ransom with the current market due to lack of supply.

Even more questionable seems to be the fact receivers are selling properties back to relations of bust developers without putting them on the open market for very low prices. I am no expert but surely this can't be legal.

Mrwhite have you verifiable sources for all these claims?

To be honest this is common knowledge where we live and only the tip of the iceberg. You wouldnt need to be a genius or dig too deeply to find far worse actions. The worst thing is it is the same players working the system again. I wondered if it is just here or if it is happening all over the country.

If you believe ethics have been broken then make a complaint to the relevant regulator, if you believe a crime has been committed contact the Gardai.
Starting a thread based on vague speculation of 'the same players' isn't going to go anywhere here.
