Yes it is always a repeat except for the first few weeks of the new show where they did both. You'd imagine they would hVe warnings but they probably don't, try complaining, they'll probably get a surprise that anyone is paying attention

Are you sure that the later show was a repeat - although I have only listened for about 5 minutes.

    Absolutely.

What have they done to this show? My god its painful to listen to, I had time for Jeremy on FM104 but on 98 I am not even sure why he is even on air? They should move the time slot up a little to around mid-day till 2/3pm, mid morning is no place for such a talk show.

Niall B is about the most decent talk show I can just about tolerate. I don't even listen to the phoneshow anymore, your mans voice is just wayyyyy too much !

I used to be a big fan of the "Get it off your chest" hour on 104 and missed it when it stopped. I tried listening for a while on 98 but anytime I tuned in recently it just seemed to be talking about "serious" topics, which they love posting up on FB while they sit back and watch people who have not enough sense to realise that it's just bait, proceed to argue with them....
sorry lads, one time fan that has lost all time for ye

Anyone notice that Dublin Talks at night has been finishing early recently, around 11:30 or so with music being played instead. I have to say as a regular listener to 98FM, I can't stand how repetitive and automated the night time show is. What makes it worse is the inserts at the start of the show saying "good evening welcome to tonight's edition of Dublin Talks for Tuesday the 17th" then it transcends into a conversation that I've already heard so much that I almost know most of it off by heart. Surely the nightly repeat of the show is turning listeners off? It bugs me so much that I question why they have a night time edition at all. I understand the JNLR figures don't measure past a certain time in the evening and I know this is part of a broader issue but surely a commercial station shouldn't be so automated between 9-12am with syndicated Seacrest and Dublin Talks repeats not to mention 12-6am having no DJ also. I dislike how dead 98FM is at nights.

It's probably cheaper to just repeat the show than pay someone to run a new show also it probably contributes to talk input?

They do - they just rarely get published because for most stations they're in single thousands (or are a single thousand, the lowest calculable). There's JNLR figures for 24/7.

I suspect the repeat is to bolster their news & current affairs figures although what times of day they cover for a station depends on their PPS agreement with the BAI.

I know day time talk shows are more restricted in what they talk about but does anyone else notice that all they talk about everyday is topics on children, so much that I'm becoming sick of it

Yeah, it's such a boring show, hairdresser radio. Nothing like the old Phoneshow.

Yeah the morning slot killed the spirit of the show but you can’t blame the lads for wanting to move away from the night shift and get more money.

True, but how long till 98 free that slot up if it can pull in more cash for them.

The lads had a good thing going at 104, maybe it was a pain in the arse to them. Shifts there from what 3/4PM till 12/1AM, but they had been giving everything. Good number for them both.

To me it looks like a case of the grass is greener on the other side.

The guy on 104 at the moment, is doing a good job to me. But, is just missing something, Adrian I think and this is out of any host, always had a way of questioning someone the way you would (even if your from North/South/West, as if you where in front of them, as in back off, let them talk, ask some more then let some airtime for other callers to fight it out.

You could hate Adrian one second and love him the next on the show. A voice of reason I guess unrestricted on the late night slot, now AM different rules and the type of rules that can't be moved. I'd say, if he moved back to PM, he could becoming a household name again.

I remember Adrian Kennedy's late night FM104 phoneshow when a typical conversation for years went something like this

Adrian: "On line 3 we have Jacinta...howayeh Jacinta?"

    Jacinta: "Howayeh Chris....."

Adrian: "Adrian, but anyway go on"

Jacinta: "Sorry Adrian, yeh im from Tallaght and I just want to talk to that fella....hello?...."

    Adrian: "Yeah go on..."

Jacinta: "Yeah I just want to talk to that fella...Anthony is it?....yeah he's a fcukin muppet"

Adrian: "Well Anthony your a muppet, what do you think of that?"

    :pac:
