We are a 50yr old Welsh couple looking to semi-retire to the Longford/Roscommon area soon,we are visiting again in April to view property and were hoping for recommendations of the best places to live around these areas please . Would like a village setting(dunmore,cloonfad?) although not too rural.…

Hi , help needed. We are a 50yr old Welsh couple looking to semi-retire to the Longford/Roscommon area soon,we are visiting again in April to view property and were hoping for recommendations of the best places to live around these areas please . Would like a village setting(dunmore,cloonfad?) although not too rural. Nightlife not important as alas clubbing is a thing of the past but a good pub or restaurant close by would be good . We both drive so commuting to town would not be an issue.A bit alarmed by some postings on here about hostility towards blow ins so obviously somewhere hospitable to friendly , quiet blow ins would be appreciated .
