Massive game for us, lose and we are pretty ****ed.

UAE are outsiders but we are not unbeatable and like how we have targeted bigger sides to upset over the years they will be planning a similar ambush on us.

Khan is the headline maker, magnificent batsmen, but some good other players as well, Panfil and Ali are quality.
Not at all concerned about NRR, a win will do just fine.

3am Toss and 3.30 it will begin.

    And...

Scotland v Afghanistan will be good fun, Scotland look to have the better batsmen, but the Afghan bowlers are very good. It could be one of the best matches this one actually.

So folks, bat first or bowl?

UAE have never played on anything like this. They're pretty solid in both batting and bowling, no obvious weaknesses I've noticed.

I'm thinking we bowl first, keep them to 250 or lower preferably and chase. That Naved fellow looks a decent bowler for them though.

Any changes? I'm wondering if we should drop Max and play Young due to his extra pace. Plus he's on fire vs Associates recently.

Will try get a couple hours sleep and get up for the game, Here's hoping for a win

I'd say chase, in too many games we've been able to bowl out the top order handily enough and then concede a 100+ partnership far too easily, I just don't trust the bowlers enough anymore to be able to finish the game off.

Indeed. We lost the t20 game v Holland when they chased down a decent Ireland total

Also England in 2013 and the series against Pakistan which I think was also that year stick out in my mind.

This was the game against Pakistanscorecard

Now the batsmen didnt do too good either in fairness but we had them at 17-4, then 112-6, 133-7 and then they got the ~90 run partnership to win the game

Chase please, makes for better excitement in work usually.

Looks like no chance of rain so we have to get the job done on the pitch

Going to get some kip and have plenty of coffee ready for what i am assuming will be a long slog.

We could get rumbled today  The UAE are half decent

    Hopefully no

    We win toss
We put them in to bat
    Dismiss them for 80 odd
    Have cup of tea
Then hit 14 6s in a row and have it wrapped up at 06:25

    The reverse is also possible:eek:

    Honest answer

You should get the 2nd half of the match as its about 3-4 hours per innings plus 45 mins for lunch

Will be at the game. Here's hoping for a decent Irish crowd. Brisbane has plenty of Irish people living here so should be a good turn out.

Gonna hit the hay around 2am, sleep until about 7:30-8:00. Hopefully I'll have the will power to get up at that time and might just catch a decent amount of the run chase

    Yeah true.

Also may regret not playing Chase or Young either.

    Concerned at the moment. :(

Early days lads. Could really do with a wicket though..

44-0 after 10 tightened up the last couple of overs

  • Registered Users Posts: 189 ✭✭Brad1234

Yeah happy with the last few overs.. Run rate has really slowed down on a big pitch as well.. Ali wicket would be great now though

I actually surveyed the pitch about a year ago for competitions and can assure you its not flat. In relation to ICC standard I couldn't say but it is not a flat surface from the crease.
