Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm planning on growing tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, strawberries in my polytunnel. How many plants of each would you recommend for 2 adults and 2 kids and some spare for other family members.

Last year I had 3 x Moneymaker and 2 x Alicante, in a greenhouse, plus 3 varieties of cherry Tomatoes in hanging baskets.

Plenty of Tomatoes for salads, sambo's, etc all through the season, plus by Sept, the freezer was full of Soup, Tomato Relish, and mixtures for Pizza toppings, and Bolognaise.

2 x Cucumber plants produced a couple of fruit each week when in full swing

Peppers I tried the previous year, 3 plants produced very little, I probably did something wrong, but they were dissapointing

Strawberries, as many as you have room for, they produce for a short time, and usually all at the same time, so be prepared for a few weeks, of plenty, and then a dribble.

A few Runner bean plants, had us in Runner Beans all summer, and the freezer full with enough to keep us going till January, try a few of those.

Best of luck, for the season ahead.
