Hi all, I have a serious illness policy with irish life health insurance which we took out with our mortgage. I have recently been very ill having to have a partial bowel resection which didnt work and ended up with having to have an emergency ileostomy where I had to spend nine days in intensive care. All in all I would have regarded this as being a serious illness and would cover for at least a partial payment but not so with Irish life. They say that because the operation was as a result of diverticular disease and not chrons they dont cover it.To say that I was very dissapointed was an understatement the operation is the exact same in both cases.I now have a stoma and a very large open wound in the middle of my stomach a bill for hospital stay and a monthly pay out now to the chemist for my stoma needs all this with no wages.i would appreciate any help or advice if anyone has been through the same with their health provider
