Brilliant goal. Arsenal are dire and extremely stupid.

Ozil bashing? How original. His is not the only poor performance tonight, but sure he's the easiest target. Yawn. Still take him over Di Maria, coutinho, Oscar and 99% of the rest of the no. 10s in world football.

Absolutely abject performance from arsenal tonight where pretty much every player had a stinker.

Comedy defending again from Arsenal, hard to see them salvage this in Monaco

Bizarre performance from Arsenal. Exciting enough game as a neutral though.

    Carrasco you hero.

So happy for him, he should definitely be selected for the national team.

You pay 50 million for a player he is entitled to be critizised before other players.

Very few players I would take over Oscar never stops working. Ozil seems still to be suffering worldcupitis and in fairness not the only German he is a class player.

Ya he could have done better but they travel 50 yards before he scores and Ox was trying to do too much with it unfortunately for him.

Sanchez was muck tonight, as was Welbeck. Both decent transfer fees payed for them, particularly Sanchez. Where's their criticism?

When was the last time the £40 million Ozil play a good game for Arsenal?

I actually did think he was 50 million. What was his 42.5 million. My point still stands.

Sanchez has been immense this season and did alright tonight. Deserves some slack no?

Pretty much every game since he's come back from injury. Have you watched arsenal at all this season?

I'd say you could count his good games in his Arsenal career on one hand

Sanchez has been brilliant this season though. He is entitled to a poor game without getting abuse. Wellbeck is just wellbeck. A striker that doesn't score goals.

If he has a poor game I don't see why we as fans should turn a blind eye to that. He tried in fairness to him but it wasn't his night.

So why the reaction to criticism of Ozil?He was awful and didn't really try either

I'm not denying that. He was very bad tonight, but he wasn't alone in that. He's also been very good in the last few games. There's an awful fascination with getting on his back as soon as he has a bad game. He's due a bit of slack imo.

I've seen him play since he's come back. He's been grand but hardly outstanding.

You pay 40 million for a player, supposedly one of the best No.10's in the world, you'd expect more though.

Small margins at this level. Arsenal's attitude after the first 5 minutes of the game is what cost them imo. They were desperately unlucky in the 2nd half (Giroud not taking even one of his gilt edged chances, Welbeck's effort blocked from going in by Walcott, and a mistake by Ox resulting in their third after two arguably very poor refereeing decisions in the lead up). Could easily have been 3-3 or even 4-3 Arsenal. But it wasn't. And they only have themselves to blame for allowing the game to pan out the way it did due to their abysmal first half display.
