The Mezz is very proud to announce that one of Irelands hottest up and coming funk and soul bands are hitting the stage in March.
If you havent heard of Zaska already you are in for a treat just check out the link below.
Expect a full on vibrant show with great support on the night from local funk band BUNK also known for their live fun filled performances.
There will also be a special guest dj from Aaron Zaska to keep the party mood alive in between bands and after.

As a 90’s child of Bavarian descent growing up in Wicklow, ZASKA seems to have come from a different place and era altogether. His unique stage identity of Guitarist + Rapper paired with his off-stage Composition + Arrangement talents has made him a complete musical anomaly in the Irish scene.
Having completed a B.A. in Jazz Performance in Newpark Music Centre, he has found a way of channelling complex and unconventional composition techniques through a feel-good blend of funk, rap and soul reminiscent of Steely Dan, The Roots, and Frank Zappa.
With an entertainer’s soul fuelled by a supernova of raw energy backed by an 8-piece supergroup of Dublin’s most in demand jazz musicians, Zaska’s famous live shows are a force to be reckoned with - consistently bringing the house down both metaphorically and almost physically too.
After the release of their debut EP In Your Own Sweet Time along with a sold out launch gig in The Sugar Club in May 2014, he took the Irish gig circuit by storm over the summer with headline sets at Knockanstockan, Goldenplec’s showcase series, and more leaving audiences calling them the “best live band in Dublin”. They then capped the year off with the release of their 2nd EP Different Light in November, which was named Goldenplec’s Irish EP of 2014, firmly establishing the band as one of Ireland’s most unique and exciting prospect.

Bunk are a Dublin-based instrumental funk soul quartet, building on the legacy of the classic studio 'house bands' of the RnB era, such as Motown's Funk Brothers, Stax's M.G.'s, and The Swampers of Muscle Shoals. Their shared love of well-crafted blues and soul, coupled with their own strong writing abilities, has created a sound that is both original and contemporary, yet infectiously danceable!

2014 saw BUNK honing their sound in front of select audiences at small venues around Dublin, building a solid fan base along the way, and culminating in a sensational live show to a sell out audience at The Workman's last December. In 2015 BUNK plan to take their music to new heights, kicking off with a support slot to Taylor McFerrin & Marcus Gilmore at the Sugar Club on January 16th.

Collectively, BUNK have everything that a great band need – an understanding of the elements of style, knowing when to lay back, knowing when to 'bring it', a genuine love for what they do, and crucially the musical ability to make it all happen.
