Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Justice was done.
The best team by far won the game.
Ba should have settled it earlier.
    Pool were very poor.

    Why didn't Balo take one?

    Subbed off

What the absolute f**k Lovren! ! ! ! Did anyone notice how he put the ball down???

Yeah he just plonked it down, didn't even place the ****ing thing.

    Well deserved Besiktas.

Did ANYONE think Lovren was scoring that?

    Tactically Rogers is inept.

Don't think it had much to do with tactics. Weakened side that ran out of legs the longer the game went on.

Harsh on Lovren who was good throughout. Fair play to him having the balls to step up to take it and there has to be questions over those who left a centre-back to decide it.

    Rodgers you clueless prick.

got what we deserved really, maybe a dose of reality. Poor all round, Besiktas were better than us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Didn't deserve to go through tbh.

Lovren taking the last peno seemed incredibly stupid decision and was proven to be so.

Hey. Been waiting 120 odd minutes.

    Why didn't Balotelli take that?

    Never mind. He was subbed.

These things happen I suppose. When it goes to pens it can go either way, all down to luck. A lottery, if you will.

He knew himself by the head on him.

In fairness all the English have deserved to get beaten this week in Europe not one of them have been good enough at all.

Feel bad for Lovren... Some of the other lads should have stepped up there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

pretty shocking that sterling as one of the top attackers of liverpool didnt step up as a peno taker instead of lovern

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Lovern is determined to be a failure at liverpool

The immediate Rodgers abuse is just silly.

    Disappointed Sterling didn't step up.

Season starts here. Got to get a result on Sunday.

Massively disappointed that team couldn't see out the tie though.

Even my 6 year old said he was going to miss :(

Wouldn't be too harsh on Lovern...it's a lottery.

    I would

As soon as he stepped up I called it. His body language and demeanour looked wrong as well.

After his woeful cross earlier it was clear he is not the player to play a pressure penalty like that.

Lovren's ball seemed to settle in a hole, most of the players took a bit of time setting it up. Seems he didn't care too much.

    Good man. rodgers out

Not at all, but you can't deny he's been found wanting in Europe against mediocre sides. You'd think Liverpool were playing in the Nou Camp tonight it was such a backs to the wall job from the first minute.

We didn't deserve to go through. But why is a CB taking one of the first 5 penos? No Manquillo, Sterling, Moreno?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

    Rodgers you clueless prick.

Really? Away to the best side in Turkey, a notoriously difficult place to go to, without Coutinho, Henderson, Sakho, Lucas, Gerrard and a clearly out of sorts Sturridge?

But yeah, Rodgers is a clueless prick, right? :pac::pac::pac::pac::pac:

No it isn't. Lovren shouldn't be taking the 5th penalty.

Not one of the premier league teams doing the bpl a justice in Europe! Odd to see, anyway well played by besiktas theyre a tricky bunch, we only scraped a win against them in the champions league qualifiers.

    Hard luck Liverpool!

Kolo has scored two penalties in pressure situations this season, where was he?

If we make the Champions League next year we should rest Rodgers for those games and keep him nice and bright for the league

I blame Sturridge more than Lovern. Guy was a disgrace tonight.

The state of English clubs in Europe. Bunch of useless overpaid wasters!

We were never gonna win this anyway, better off out of it

played well for 45 minutes and that was that really. Poor performance and looked like a few tired legs even in the first 90 minutes. No complaints besiktas just about deserved to go through over the two legs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭BMJD

No need to go overboard on Lovren, the whole team were fairly ****e over the 120 minutes.

Why can't a centre back take a penalty?

I wish they'd just get rid of extra time, maybe keep it for finals but for a two-legged affair it's just such a waste of time and energy with legless players playing half-heartedly, falling over with cramp and just waiting for penalties to come.

Based on our showing in the Champions League and having an out of form under pressure Lovren taking the 5th penalty then yed, I think he's clueless.

Chelsea still look good. Them and Everton are the only teams left in Europe it seems.

He'd have stood over it trying to decide what to do till the ref eventually sent him back to the half way line.:pac:

Just coutinho rested, the rest were deemed injured.

    Sterling bottle not taking one?

Just goes to show the state of the premiership, this is the type of player that money attracts, fcuking pre maddonnas (premiership teams in general)
