Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You do realise that Henderson , Coutinho and Gerrard are out?

Of course I do! I meant the team that was put out. I'm not hugely criticising them , they're young and in a very hostile environment so of course it's going to be tough. I feel Can and Allen have put themselves about quite well to be honest, it's been the players up front that haven't held the ball up too well. Coutinho is the biggest loss in that regard as he's our most intelligent player on the ball.

Sterling pulled out of the challenge so meekly....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

I think our problem has been the midfield not holding on to the ball long enough leading to pressure on the defence and not enough time on the ball for forwards to create moves.

Hmmm miracle miss in the Attaturk again, in that goal.

Could yet be our night ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

That has to go down as a bad miss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Might as well just kick the ball into our own net here and spare the wasted effort.

Extra time at the Ataturk it is.

Man City will be happy with this going to extra time.

    What could possibly go wrong?

We really don't need extra time. 30 more minutes of Welch and Lawro. Ugh! :(

Himself and Sturridge have been very poor.

We'll find out a lot about this team in the coming half hour. Got to ****ing fight now!!

Last thing we need is extra time with city at the weekend. This is a disaster!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Really thought we'd score over there. Relying on a 1-0 lead is always walking a tightrope. An extra 30 minutes not needed ahead of Sunday.

Well we played for the draw & got it,extra time just what we need  ,really don't see where a goal for us is coming from

Pre christmas showing there from us, cant see us scoring in the second half here

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

I'd rather extra time than being out, but we'll be screwed for City on Sunday most likely. Markovic, Coutinho and Henderson should start anyhow, and Gerrard if fit but I don't know how likely that is. Johnson may well play on Sunday too, and hopefully Sakho. If all those are fit we shouldn't actually be too bad, except up front.

I've criticised Der Wuudwurk previously but he saved hour bacon there.

No Fight in the team at all.

If we don't perform better than we did against Barca (particularly the first half), this wouldn't hamper Liverpool that much.

I had to watch the first half on tv3 due to getting home from work late and not being able to record itv4 on sky, but was only 15 mins late so switched to itv4 since.

Go to penalties I'd rather balo than Sturridge on the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

If we could just find one goal from somewhere then we should go through.

Big players have to step up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 467 ✭✭DaveSuarez

When was the last time we lost a penalty shootout? I can't remember any losses since Rafa took over in 04.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

I think we could play through till Sunday and Sterling and Sturridge wouldn't do anything of note

Have you images of Sturridge arguing with every player as they step up for their peno.
