    Do we need to know all experiments for the JC or just the mandatory ones?

    Search up "the physics teacher junior cert" brilliant website!
    It has revision, mandatory experiments, definitions etc.

    Well you would definitely need to know the mandatory experiments but there is no reason as to why one of the optional experiments wouldn't come up. Just have a general idea of the extra ones just in case they ask you about it.

    As far as I know most of the non-mandatory experiments wouldn't be specifically asked about in the exam - however the reason they are in the textbooks is to make certain concepts more clear to you. So while you don't need to know the non-mandatory experiments as thoroughly as you should know the mandatory ones, you should make sure you know the concepts behind them, and why you got whatever results you obtained with the experiments, if that makes sense.
