    Send Dustin or Jedward again.

Bit harsh on the final song, actually. :o

    ...Though I do agree it isn't really Eurovision-y. :D;)

They all hate each other these days, it's a westerners turn this year. Or Greece just for the laugh in getting Germany to pay for it.

We RTE wont worry about hosting it next year for the foreseeable future.

    Couldn't resist. :o:D;)

We wont worry about hosting it next year.

The bosses in RTE will be breathing a sigh of relief.

None of these songs will get to the final anyway (not that we should always be setting that as our barometer for success).
Erika Selin's song would probably qualify for the final if it was performed by professional singer with professional set-up. But even then it wouldn't enter the top 10.
When judging songs you need to compare them with previous winners such as Loreen - Euphoria; Conchita Wurst - Rise Like A Phoenix.
They weren't exactly to my taste but it was glaringly obvious they would win and were done to perfection.

We have nothing again.....so sad. I could take it if there was a hint that we could dust ourselves down and try again next year for something better but you just know that nothing ever changes.

When did the Eurovision become a big gay thing? The older audiences look very subdued :P

It's amazing what a decent haircut can do for someone, Johnny Logan actually looked younger the second time around.

Never heard any of the songs before tonight, listenec to about 30 secs of each song in the OP and Molly Sterling was the one that stood out for me.

It's a good song, and her age would stand out.

That last girl was beautiful. Seemed a bit nervous though and agree with Phil that it fell away a bit in the middle. 3 great songs tonight.

apart Lordi all the entries are the same. I mean if jedward can go on twice or three times why can't they. All the music on eurovision nowadays are pop, hip hop and boy bands.

Doesn't take much to get me proud of the old Irishness, but I find our winners and the fawning nonsense a bit embarassing and more than a little desperate.

Can I say the dancer is good looking? She could be a 13 yo Russian, with the way they work over there.

Just off the phone... I voted for song 6 - Leanne Moore... ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 774 ✭✭✭CarpeDiem85

Loved that last song, she's such a talent. She'd be wasted at EV though.

If we really wanted to win EV, we'd need to send a really upbeat, novelty act.
