To be fair, the performances seen tonight are far from the finished product and there is obviously going to be a lot of nerves as these are all amateur singers singing live on TV for the first time.

Not to worry, we'll have the usual needless backing singers and male dancers by the time May comes around.

That's what they should have done... the Murder She Wrote theme!

Tori AMos and Kate Bush are timeless. What do u call contemporary....Taylor Swift. Kanye West

Look up the definition of "contemporary" in the context that Turbidy was using it.

Just off the phone... I voted for song 6 - Leanne Moore... ;)

40 countries in it, so we should expect to win once every 40 years.

No idea why the government don't just guarantee RTE a separate bonus for organising the EV if we won it.

The free publicity more than pays for it in tourist revenue.

Song 5 would stand out in the Eurovision as it is different to what is usually performed, like Netherlands last year. Agreed that something needs to be done with the second half of it, maybe strip it back to just the piano but it's the best chance we have of winning or doing well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,827 ✭✭✭bpb101

clearly song 5 should win it
    song 3 in second place

song 1 was a heap of shíte
song 2 and 4 wasent much better.

Nah, sure all the bloc voting means we'll never win again. Russia won't do too well this year (if they're in it)

A little secret, every country does it!

Ah, but they don't have our remarkable Eurovision heritige. Etc etc

I'm pretty sure Germany and Austria both thought the same after years of miserable results. It's not that hard, good song with good singers always finish close to the top...... something we haven't had since the turn of the millennium.
Brian Kennedy is a great singer but his song wasn't up to scratch. Still it is light-years ahead of this offering.

Cutbacks at Rte tubs doesn't even have a pen...They gave him a pencil

It's so any mistakes can be rubbed out to save on another embarrassing episode like last year when tallying the points.

Stick this woman on the panel instead of Linda. She doesn't seem smug like Linda. (And Johnny and Phil and Dana!)

We should have looked for Roxette, they could have used us for their relaunch.
